jungkook: where are you guys going to meet???
jennie: we have not decided yet...
jungkook: come home and watch some movie or something. anyways ji-eun is going to be out and I would be working.
Jennie: okay...
TIME SKIP
IN THE EVENING
taehyung had come to Jennie's house and they were deciding which movie to watch. they were arguing playfully about the movies.
taehyung: let's watch princess diaries.
Jennie: no... let's watch the fault in our stars.
taehyung: no.... it is overrated. let's watch twilight.
Jennie: you know what? let's ask dad.
taehyung: your dad is home?
Jennie: yeah, he is in the office room. he is working.
taehyung: on a Sunday? shouldn't he be on a holiday today?
jennie: he is jeon jungkook. he doesn't have holidays. or he says he doesn't need them. he likes to keep himself busy. says you understand why work is addicting once you enter adulthood.
taehyung: huh? adulthood?
Jennie: according to him, you enter adulthood when your heart is broken at least once and you understand the cruelties of the world, but more the cruelty of fate.
taehyung started feeling guilty. had jungkook become like this because of him???
Jennie led him to the office room where he found jungkook working on his laptop. he looked so focused. after noticing their presence, jungkook looked up and stopped working. he asked them what they want.
jennie: can you suggest a movie? we can't make up our minds.
jungkook: you guys are on a date. you should watch something romantic. something like 'NOTTING HILL'.
Jennie: not in the mood for notting hill. how about something like.... mmmm.... something like 'CALL ME BY YOUR NAME'?
BOTH: NO!!!!
both jungkook and taehyung said in sync.
jennie: why???
taehyung: don't feel like it.
jungkook and taehyung's eyes met. they both had the same emotion. they loved watching 'CALL ME BY YOUR NAME' together.
Jennie: okay. we are watching a movie I have decided. no arguments. and kook, you are joining us.
jungkook: I don't wanna come in between you two. it's a date. I should give you two some privacy.
Jennie: nope. you are joining us. I don't want you to work on a Sunday evening.
jungkook: but it-
taehyung: you should join Mr. jeon.
but both of them knew that neither his joining was a good idea nor Mr. jeon sounded right from taehyung's mouth.
the three of them went to the living room. jennie and taehyung sat on the couch together while jungkook sat on the chair beside it. jennie put on some movie and the opening credits started rolling in. the minute both jungkook and taehyung realized what movie it was, their eyes met...
it was 'THE NOTEBOOK'... the movie they had seen together like 27 times. this was a very special movie for them, but they couldn't argue with jennie. jennie was focused on the movie while jungkook was watching it with glassy eyes. He remembered the first time they saw it. taehyung was not looking at the screen at all. he had removed his diary and was writing something.
there was a quote in 'THE NOTEBOOK'. it was so true for their situation right now. taehyung wrote it down.
he had come back into my life
like a sudden flame.
blazing and streaming into my heart.
I stayed up all night
contemplating the certain agony,
I knew would be mine
if I lost him twice.- The notebook
the movie finished and an awkward silence surrounded them. jennie was crying while tears were streaming down jungkook's face. taehyung had the strong urge to hug jungkook like he used to after watching this movie. but he held himself back and hugged jennie instead trying to calm her down.
