summer after high school

after a few days, taehyung was discharged from the hospital. Jungkook had left the hospital after he had woken up from his sleep and didn't come to visit him later.

Jimin had shifted all of taehyung's stuff to his house. he didn't trust him living alone. they had just reached yoonmin's house. taehyung went to the guest room which was now his and lay down on the bed. he was staring at the ceiling deep in thought. 

suddenly his phone rang making him snap out of his thoughts. it was Jennie. he picked it up.

ON THE PHONE

Jennie: hey tae.

taehyung: hey.

Jennie: you reached Jimin's house?

taehyung: yeah. just a few minutes ago.

Jennie: can we meet? I want to catch up with you.

taehyung: sure. come ever.

Jennie: okay. I'll be there in 15 minutes.

HALF-HOUR LATER

Jennie reached the house and rang the bell. Jimin opened the door.

Jennie: hey Jimin oppa. I'm here to meet tae.

Jimin: come inside. he's in the guest room. that's his room now.

Jennie: okay. see I brought you guys cookies.

Jimin: aww, you didn't need to. but thank you.

Jennie: habit. anyways, excuse me. I need to share some tea with tae.

Jimin laughed and let Jennie inside. she ran to the guest room to find taehyung sitting on the bed scrolling through his phone. taehyung saw her and smiled putting his phone down.

taehyung: hey jen.

Jennie: hey, how are you?

taehyung: good. come sit.

she went and sat next to him on the bed.

Jennie: okay... so... I have some tea to spill and time to spend with you so I brought some snacks.

taehyung: ooh~ 

she opened her bag and took out a lot of snacks including chips, cookies, chocolates, etc. they started talking about random topics while eating and were happily laughing. after about an hour or so, Jennie suddenly turned serious.

Jennie: so, listen...

taehyung: I'm listening.

Jennie: we have no feelings for each other, right? completely none. right?

taehyung: totally. I see you as a friend. nothing more.

Jennie: okay so... I need to tell you something. and I'm telling you this because I need to sort some things out and I need your advice. 

taehyung: I'm all ears.

Jennie: last summer... it all started last summer.

taehyung: okay...

Jennie: I had just finished high school and was going to enter university and adult life after the summer.  so I want to jisoo's grandmother's village for the summer. I and jisoo enjoyed the summer in the countryside.

Jennie: she had two other friends in that village who lived close to her grandmother's place. they were Rosé and Lisa. we all became pretty close over the summer. especially me and Lisa. she is a very closed-off girl who doesn't socialize a lot. she seems like a loner and boring but I enjoyed her company.

taehyung: okay... then?

Jennie: a day before we were returning to Seoul, it was night and we were in the forest sitting at the edge of the lake. we were just sitting in comfortable silence. she didn't talk a lot.. she was a quiet girl. and no idea how but we kissed. it was my first kiss ever.

taehyung: oh... well.

Jennie: it doesn't end here.

Jennie: no. the next day, I was supposed to leave. while leaving when I said bye to her, she placed a small kiss on my lips. after that day, we had no contact. we didn't have each other's phone numbers. life came back to normal. until a few days ago.

taehyung: a few days ago?

Jennie: Lisa and Rosé shifted to Seoul for their studies. they live two minutes away from us and them being jisoo's best friends, they hang out with us all the time.

taehyung: oh... is there anyone who knows what happened between you two?

Jennie: jisoo, Rosé and ... and... and uhm.
