all of them sat at the dining table and had breakfast while chatting. taehyung's gaze flickered to jungkook a few times, jungkook noticed it every time. the moment jungkook noticed him and looked at him, taehyung would look away. this carried on the whole time.
after breakfast, the namjin couple left first, saying they had to go somewhere. the hoseok left saying he had to go to his studio. then taehyung left with the yoonmin couple.
while leaving, taehyung hugged jennie goodbye. he was about to leave when ji-eun said.
ji-eun: think about what I said.
taehyung nodded and left.
jungkook was confused with the whole interaction but didn't ask anything.
ji-eun: let's go on a date today Jungkook. just the two of us?
jungkook: okay.
he didn't want to turn ji-eun down.
ji-eun: will you be fine at home alone jen?
jennie: don't worry. I'm going to jisoo's place. we'll just hang out the whole day.
jungkook: where do you wanna go for our date?
ji-eun: let's take a huge walk in the park. and then have lunch somewhere.
jungkook: okay.
they both got dressed and left for the park. they reached their nearest park which was a very big one with beautiful greenery.
they started walking while talking about random things.
ji-eun: the reason I wanted us to go on a date was... I need to ask you something. but I need you to tell the truth and the truth only.
jungkook: okay...
ji-eun: are you in love with taehyung?
jungkook: where did this come from suddenly?
she led him to a bench and they both sat.
ji-eun: I had a chat with him today morning. before everyone woke up. okay, I need you to answer whatever I ask truthfully without hiding anything.
jungkook: okay.
ji-eun: what happened the day before you broke up? and I'm not asking this as your wife, I'm asking this as a psychologist.
jungkook's mind went to the day before they broke up.
FLASHBACK (this is a flashback from Jungkook's pov)
it was two days since jungkook had introduced taehyung to his parents. taehyung and jungkook were cuddling in their bed. it was 9 am. suddenly taehyung got a call. he answered it without getting up from jungkook's arms. he heard what the person on the other end was saying and got up.
jungkook: where are you going bun?
taehyung: just need to take this call. I'll come back in a few seconds.
he came back a few minutes later.
taehyung: listen, I have to go to your parent's house. I'll be back in an hour.
jungkook: why so suddenly?
taehyung: your mom called, she said I forgot something of mine there.
jungkook: you want me to come with you?
taehyung: no. you get a holiday once in a while, you are not gonna run errands. you should enjoy it.
jungkook: I enjoy wherever you are, my love.
taehyung turned red.
taehyung: god!!! you're so cheesy.
jungkook: you love that.
taehyung: fine, I do. but I'll be back in an hour. we can enjoy the whole day.
jungkook: okay...
jungkook pulled the blanket over him again and drifted to sleep while taehyung got ready and went to jungkook's parent's mansion.
