FLASHBACK

taehyung and Jungkook were cuddling. suddenly he got a call from Jungkook's parents saying that he had left something of his there. he went to the mansion to get it.

taehyung reached the mansion and rang the bell. a security guard let him in. there he saw a maid waiting for him. she told him to go to the study room. that's where Mr. and Mrs. jeon were.

he entered the study to find them sitting on a couch.

taehyung: hello Mr jeon. hello, Mrs. jeon. you told me I forgot something here.

Mr. jeon: you haven't forgotten anything here. we wanted to talk to you, that is why we called you. you didn't bring Jungkook with you, did you?

taehyung: no. you wanted him to come along?

Mrs. jeon: no. this is better.

Mr. jeon: you have to break up with Jungkook.

taehyung was shocked. he hadn't expected this from Jungkook's parents at all.

taehyung: what? why?

Mr. jeon: my son is not gay. he won't get married to a man. and we would have tolerated you but you are not even rich. you won't even be of profit to our company, in fact, you would ruin Jungkook's reputation.

taehyung: but sir, I ---

mr. jeon: no excuses. if you won't break up with him, then we would have to disown him.

taehyung: how can you do that? he is your own son.

mr. jeon: not if he ruins the family's reputation. if you do not break up with him, we would cut all ties with him. it's your choice now.

taehyung was devasted. he had lost his parents when he was 12 and knew how much it hurt to never be able to talk to his parents again. he could not imagine the pain Jungkook would have to go through.

he had started crying but quickly wiped his tears. 

taehyung: give me 24 hours, sir. I will break up with him before this time tomorrow.

mr. jeon: you have 24 hours young man.

taehyung bowed to them and was leaving when he was stopped by Jungkook's mother.

taehyung: yes, ma'am?

Mrs. jeon: always remember, love is and always will be ruthless.

taehyung nodded and left.

BACK TO PRESENT

taehyung: and so I spent the last 24 hours with you holding you as close as I could.

Jungkook: you broke up with me because you were afraid my parents would stop talking to me?

taehyung: I know how it feels to not feel parental love. you had love from your parents. why would I purposefully take it away from you?

Jungkook: fine. leave it. it's all in the past. Oh and for your information, I haven't been in contact with my father for 3 years. I talk to my mom sometimes but not to my father.

taehyung: why would you do that??

Jungkook: 'cause he was talking shit. when I went to him and told him that we broke up, he started laughing. he said thank god I was rid of that gay faggot. I got so angry that I slapped him and shouted at him for calling you a faggot. then I stormed out of the house. that was the last time I talked to my father.

taehyung: oh koo... you shouldn't have.

Jungkook: I shouldn't have what? I shouldn't have stood up for the love of my life? or I should have defended gay rights?

taehyung kept quiet. there was nothing he could argue with this statement.

taehyung: how are you these days anyways?

Jungkook: a lot of work but yeah. I'm keeping up.

taehyung: take care of your health.

Jungkook: yeah...

suddenly taehyung's phone made a beep sound indicating he got a notification. he opened his phone to see a chat from bogum.

I know you are not asleep.

taehyung:

didn't I tell you I was going to go to the party and Jen's house??
I'm in the balcony.
talking with Jungkook.

okie. have fun.

taehyung:

I know you are going to be there for me.
but try to get some sleep ;)

Jungkook: you and this bubblegum guy are really close, aren't you?

taehyung giggled. the sound of the giggle felt like heaven to Jungkook's ears. it was the sweetest melody ever. he swore it was sweeter than when the angels sang in the heaven. 

taehyung: his name is bogum, not bubblegum.

Jungkook: whatever. but, are you two very close?

taehyung: he knows somethings in my life not even Jimin knows. so yeah, you could say we are close.

Jungkook: are you both... do you like each other?

taehyung: we would rather not. it would get complicated if we try dating each other. but he is a wonderful guy, if I had met him differently and at a different time, I would like the thought of us together.

Jungkook sighed.
