the kiss

A FEW DAYS LATER

few days had passed. every day, jungkook would drop taehyung at the college and go to his office where Jong-suk and ji-eun were present. jong-suk and ji-eun bond a lot these days even if there was a marriage barrier between ji-eun.

right now, ji-eun and Jong-suk were chatting while walking down the corridor. ji-eun was walking in front while Jong-suk was following her. she suddenly turned around to find herself too close to him. Their faces were inches from each other. she tried to move back, not expecting this but ended up losing her balance. jong-suk quickly held her to prevent her from falling. 

they looked into each other's eyes and got lost in them. their faces started moving closer to each other's faces and they both leaned in, capturing each other's lips. they smiled in a content feeling of bliss. after 19 years, they were experiencing heaven. jong-suk started moving his lips. warmth blossomed in Ji-eun's chest. 

they parted a few minutes later to realize what they had done. ji-eun was too shy to face anyone and so ran into the washroom. meanwhile, guilt spread in Jong-suk's chest. had he just made ji-eun cheat on her husband? he was not a home -wrecker. this should have happened. he sat down on the floor, tears streaming. just thinking about the fact that he had maybe ruined Ji-eun's perfect family and her happiness made him hate himself.

he had to do something. but hiding whatever happened and pretending it would never happen was not the right option. he had to come clean and promise it would never happen again. he wiped his tears, fixed his appearance, and went to jungkook's cabin. he knocked on the door and heard a faint 'come in'. he opened the door and went in to see jungkook working on his laptop and taehyung sitting on the sofa talking to him. 

jungkook: oh, hey jong-suk. Do you need anything?

jong-suk: I wanted to talk to you about something. it's important.

taehyung looked at him for a moment and then said.

taehyung: I'll give you two some space. I'll go find ji-eun noona or something.

taehyung left the room closing the door.

jungkook: come sit. 

jong-suk sat in front of jungkook, took a deep breath, and started.

jong-suk: look, I didn't tell this you before because it didn't matter. but now it does. I have to come clean. please don't let this ruin anything.

jungkook smiled.

jungkook: okay.

jong-suk: about 20 years ago or so, ji-eun was my therapist. but she was also... also my... she was...

jungkook: she was your girlfriend. you used to date. I know.

jong-suk: you know?

jungkook: yeah. ji-eun had told me. you were in love, your company made you break up. I know it.

jong-suk: yeah. and when we met again, a month ago... we decided to be friends. after all, she has a good family now. She has you, she has a daughter, and everyone she loves. now, before I tell you this, I want you to know that this is not her fault and please don't get angry with her. it is completely my fault and I will compensate you any way you want me to but please don't punish her for this.

jungkook: chill... and tell me what happened?

jong-suk: we... we...

jungkook: chill. I am not going to get angry with anyone.

jong-suk: we accidentally kissed.

a tear fell on Jong-suk's cheek.

jong-suk: I don't know how it happened or why? she is married for fuck's sake...

jungkook widened his eyes.

jungkook: you kissed!!!! oh my god!!! finally!!! you guys took a whole month!!!

jong-suk: what?

jungkook: I thought you guys would kiss in a week or something! but damn. a month. you have patience.

jong-suk: I don't understand. why would you want us to kiss? isn't ji-eun your wife?

jungkook: no. I mean yes, but no.

jong-suk: what is that supposed to mean?

jungkook: okay first, wipe your tears. I am not used to witness people older than me crying.

jong-suk laughed and did so.
