third person pov:

as February came to a close and the month of March had approached, all the snow on the grounds had finally melted away, the sun shone more brightly over the bright green grass. the weather had heated up a bit more and the sky was clear and a shade of bright blue.

George and Hallie had become persistent about studying together, they were officially close friends. they switched around study places; mostly in the library, sometimes on the school grounds, but their favorite spot was hidden in the woods where a giant tree was planted, with perfect nooks and crannies for the both of them to sit in and dangle their legs off the edge.

Hallie had missed the cold weather because it was her all time favorite. George had loved the weather and he was very fond of his and Hallies usual flying sessions.

-

"alright" George spoke, walking up to the large tree with a case in one hand and two brooms in the other.
Hallie laid back on one of the thick branches of the tree with a book in her hand. she turned her head and looked down at George.
"oh dear" Hallie groaned as she stared at George, knowing exactly what he had in mind.
"get down" he smiled.

Hallie pulled herself down from the tree and George began to explain how to work the broom.
she anxiously mounted onto it as she floated a few inches above ground, her feet grazing the soft green grass.
George cheered for her, placing his hands on her hips to make sure she wouldn't fall off.

he pulled her around and she floated above the grass with a focused face on, making sure she wouldn't fall. he let go of her hips and mounted his broom.
George grabbed Hallies hand in his and began to float higher into the air, Hallie gasped at how high she was from the ground and squeezed Georges hand tightly.

"i'm letting go!" George exclaimed.
"no! don't!" Hallie shrieked with panic as she clutched Georges shirt. he laughed at her and let go of her hand, she pulled on his shirt as they both slammed into each other, George gasped and held steady onto his broom, pulling onto Hallies arm. she began to laugh as George stared at her like she was insane.
"sorry! sorry" she smiled, wiping at her eyes which were tear filled.

"we're going down now" George winced and grabbed Hallies hand as he guided them safely to the ground.
Hallie dramatically fell onto the grass, clutching the blades in her fist and acting as if she was kissing the ground.
"your dramatic" George rolled his eyes playfully as he grabbed both of the brooms.
Hallie rolled onto her back and looked up at the tall red head.
"if i fell and broke something because of you-"
Hallie began but George cut her off.
"i know, i know you would murder me" George smiled and propped the brooms against the giant tree.

"alright, get up" George said, walking over to Hallie as he reached out. she grabbed onto his hands and George pulled her up to her feet.
George grabbed the brooms and the case as they began walking back to the school.

"what's in the case?" asked Hallie, pointing down to the box under Georges arm.
"oh, the Snitch the Quaffle and the Bludgers" he smiled.
"i barely understood any of that" Hallie laughed.
"here" George stopped and set down the case, he opened it to reveal the inside.
"this is the Snitch" he said, pointing at the little golden ball. Hallie nodded and understood.
"these are the Bludgers" he pointed at them. she nodded once again.
"and this is the Quaffle" he pointed.
"do you not pay attention at Quidditch matches?" asked George as he closed up the case and propped it back under his arm, bending down to grab the brooms.

"i understand how it works but get some names mixed up" laughed Hallie.
"hm" George hummed and they continued walking.
"tell me more" Hallie said, sounding intrigued as she stared up into his hazel eyes.
George began to talk on and on about Quidditch, about the matches he's lost and the matches he's won. Hallie nodded and hummed along with a smile on her face.
George couldn't help but feel a bit lost in her blue eyes when they would catch eye contact for a few split seconds.

George hadn't even noticed how they had made it back to Hogwarts already, they walked to the Quidditch pitch to put up the brooms and the kit.
he went off on a rant about how Gryffindor should have won one round then had totally lost track off time and realized the sky was now dark and dusted with stars.
Hallie was sat on the ground next to George, picking at the ground as she nodded and smiled at him.
"i'm sorry, did i talk to long" George rubbed the back of his neck. Hallie shook her head, a smile still lingering.
"i think i understand Quidditch better now" Hallie smiled.
"we should probably get back" Georges face was red with embarrassment. but secretly he liked the way Hallie let him talk and talk, and how she payed attention even if he may have gotten a bit boring.

the both of them got back just in time for dinner, they parted ways and Hallie sat down next to Sage who was in a deep conversation with another student.
"oh hey" Sage said, looking at Hallie with surprise like she didn't notice her sit down. Hallie smiled at her friend and let her continue her conversation.
Hallie couldn't help but think about Georges happy smile as he talked all about Quidditch, she thought about his beautiful eyes and his rose colored cheeks, the way his fiery red hair contrasted with his freckled skin. she caught herself smiling at the thought. she felt embarrassed even though surly no one could read her thoughts.

but little did she know, George was thinking about Hallie just as much as she was thinking about him.

1030 words.
