Year 3
Third Person Pov.
over the next few days that the girls were spending at the Weasleys for Christmas they played many fun games, they went shopping for Christmas gifts and Hallie and George had flown around for Quidditch practice.
but the day they had enjoyed the most was Christmas day.they opened many presents, they watched Christmas films and played out in the snow.
yet, George was a bit off. after what Fred said that one night he couldn't get Hallie out of his head. he couldn't stop thinking of her smile. and whenever he was around her he felt a bit flushed.
he couldn't possibly fancy Hallie, is what he thought, and what he told himself over and over again for the next few days they spent together.
damn you Fred. he thought.-
on the night of Christmas they all packed their bags and went to sleep.
they all woke up early in the morning to go back to Hogwarts.
they said goodbye to the Weasleys (Sage and Hallie both thanking the Weasleys for letting them stay) then they all loaded onto the Hogwarts Express.the whole ride there George had not once forgotten about what Fred had said. he kept giving Fred looks. trying to figure out why his twin would think that.
he kept staring at Hallie, trying to figure out why his stomach twisted, why his cheeks turned red, his head feeling a bit fuzzy, and he couldn't help hide his smile.
her laugh made him laugh. her smile made him smile. her being sad made him sad. why did he feel this way?on the other hand, Hallie hadn't thought of George that way.
of course, his laugh made her laugh, his smile was contagious. but George was one of her best friends. she never looked at him differently, she never even once thought about that.
and the scary film they had watched together didn't make her think that way.George and Hallie both felt differently.
-
they had gotten back to Hogwarts and ate a big dinner, then all went to sleep.
the next week back was full of lots of studying.
Hallie and George hadn't had much time for hanging out. which gave George the opportunity to think. more than he already had.-
"do you really think i fancy Hallie" asked George one night in his dorm as he laid awake staring up at the red curtain that draped along his bed.
Fred shuffled in his bed as he turned to look at George, rubbing his tired eyes.
"you're still thinkin 'bout tha?" Fred said sleepily, his eyes half way open.
George stayed silent, biting at his bottom lip.
"i mean it" Fred yawned and pulled his comforter up to his chin and began to breathe heavily. he was already fast asleep.Georges stomach turned at the thought of Hallie. he thought of the time they had danced in the rain. he thought about what it would be like to touch her face, her arms, to brush her hair out of her eyes. to be close enough to feel the warmth of her body for a long period of time.
he quickly cleared his head. but he had already imagined kissing Hallies lips.-
"so, we finished the film and drank hot chocolate. it was nice" smiled Hallie as she did her homework with Sage sat across from her.
"besides the film being a horror. i was clutching onto George for dear life" Hallie laughed and didn't look up to see her friends stunned reaction.Sage shook off her reaction and raised her eyebrows. she knew in that moment something was blossoming between the two. but she couldn't quite figure out if Hallie felt it.
Sage cleared her throat and adjusted in her chair.
Hallie looked up at her smirking friend.
"hm?" Hallie hummed.
"what- nothing" Sage said, reading over her Astronomy paper, which she was needing to turn in.
Sage looked up at Hallie who was still studying.
"what do you think of George?" Sage asked.
Hallie looked up with scrunched eyebrows.
"sorry?"
"George. what do you think?"
"he's really sweet, he's a great friend"
"friend." Sage whispered underneath her breath as she got up and was rolling up her paper.
"what?" Hallie looked at her confused.
"i've got to turn in this paper" Sage said as she quickly left the Hufflepuff common room.Hallie sat there biting at her fingernail.
George was a great friend. she thought. why is Sage acting like this. Hallie shrugged and continued with her homework.-
another month had flown by.
February approached and the weather had turned a bit colder out.
Hallie had no time to think about what everyone else in school was thinking about."Valentines" Sage spoke, Hallie and Sage gathering in a group with a bunch of other students.
"they're letting us go to Hogsmeade next week as well?" asked Hallie. next week was Valentine's day and many students had already been showing their public displays of affection to each other. whether it be a cupid with a bow flying in the air or a simple bundle of roses. the school was filled with love. Hallie and Sage (both being single) hadn't liked it all to much."yeah, i guess a treat for the singles" joked Sage.
"where are the twins?" Hallie looked over the heads of a bunch of students. she didn't spot them, which was easy to do considering they were taller than everyone else, red heads and a set of trouble making twins.
"Fred said they would meet up with us. something about 'a failed prank'" Sage imitated Fred's voice.
"that's not much of a shock" Hallie said.the students went down to Hogsmeade and everything seemed to be decorated for Valentines the next weekend.
Hallie and Sage washed away their bitter feeling of seeing all the couples together with a few butterbeers.
that's when the twins had shown up and plopped down into chairs next to each of them.Fred put his arm around Sages shoulders and stole her butterbeer as Sage tried to fight it from him he continued to drink it.
Hallie slapped away Georges greedy hand.
"get your own" she hissed at him and he retreated.
the both of them soon gave in and decided to get themselves their own drinks and food.Hallie leaned over the table to speak to Sage as the twins had left.
"awe you two are so cute!" Hallie teased as she batted her eyelashes. Sage shoved her back into her chair and shushed her dramatically.
Hallie giggled as she took a sip of her butterbeer.
"here you go" George smiled as he set down a tray of food and sat back down.
"thanks" Hallie said as she began to eat.
"oh you've got- uhm" George pointed at his own top lip as he stared at Hallies foam covered one.
"hm?" she asked, wiping at her mouth, she hadn't got it all.George blushed as he took the back of his sleeve and gently rubbed it across Hallies top lip. they both stared into each others eyes until George had slowly pulled away, his eyes darted to Hallies lips and Hallie hadn't noticed as she hastily turned back to her food.
George looked across the table to see Fred who was looking at him with raised eyebrows. George looked away. bloody hell. George thought, he couldn't stop thinking about wiping her top lip off, how embarrassing it was as he continued to eat.
i don't fancy Hallie. he repeated to himself about 20 times until he soon learned that was a very big lie.1278 words.
