year 4.

Third Person Pov.

months had passed since the incident with Sirius Black supposedly breaking into Hogwarts.
Professor Lupin had resigned from his DADA position at Hogwarts after the whole Werewolf incident, which also meant the students would be getting a new teacher in their next year at Hogwarts.
there had still been a few more months left of school, which also meant many more intense Quidditch matches.

but today was one of them, the last Quidditch match of the season,
Slytherin against Gryffindor.
Hallie had made up with George, she hadn't said anything about her true feelings. she had pushed them aside. Sage was a bit angry and frustrated with her friend because of it. but she knew one day it would happen. she knew she had to be patient.

-

Hallies pov.

i had put on the Gryffindor hoodie George had given to me. it was just how it always was, pooling around me. it smelled fresh, with a hint of him. i stared at myself in the mirror for a while, imagining that i had stolen my boyfriends hoodie or something. i felt crazy.

"ready?" asked Sage as she walked out of the bathroom, sporting a red scarf.
"where'd you get that?" i questioned.
"Ginny" she smiled, throwing it over her shoulder dramatically.
Sage wasn't a fan of sports, she only went to games to support her friends. half the time she would be asking me what was going on and who was winning.
i had helped her to understand it most of the time.

but this time everyone was going to be there. it was the last Quidditch game of the season.
even though i was upset Hufflepuff was out i was still going to cheer for George.... and of course Fred.
"okay let's go" i spoke, tying the shoelaces of my red converse, i was going all out, i had even done a bit of red makeup to match the occasion.

-

Sage and I found spots nearest to the stairs because i had wanted to run down there and celebrate whenever Gryffindor wins. that's right, i was set on who was going to win. besides, Slytherin didn't deserve an ego boost.

the match had begun, Lee Jordan commentating.
i spotted Potter who flew around, he looked like a jet of lightning from the stands, you could hardly keep an eye on how fast he was. he darted around, i had squinted my own eyes to look for the Snitch like i was playing.
i hadn't spotted it. Potter seemed the same.

the rest of the match went on, the Snitch nowhere to be seen. Gryffindor scored points and so had Slytherin.
Slytherin was in the lead, 80 20. i had almost lost hope in Gryffindor winning.
i had been focusing on George and the way he had been playing, how he kind of looked hot when he got angry.
Malfoy zoomed past and i realized he had spotted the Snitch, Potter was right behind him.
i had raised in my seat and began cheering on Harry, many people were hissing like snakes. we were basically in a den of snakes.

"am i supposed to be cheering right now!!" asked Sage loudly over the cheering and insults from the Slytherin audience.
"for Potter! he's trying to get the Snitch!" i informed. she nodded and began clapping.
Potter had flown up beside Malfoy, they both began bumping into each other, Potter slowly began lifting both hands off his broom as he then launched forward, his legs still tightly gripping onto his broom for dear life.
he began falling down at a rapid pace but put his fist in the air to show he had gripped the Snitch.

the crowd erupted into cheers. Malfoy looked angry, the Slytherins around us booed.
i got up and cheered with excitement, the Gryffindor team flew down to the ground as i began running down the stairs to celebrate with George. Sage close behind me.

i had reached the ground and jumped into Georges arms as i wrapped my arms around his neck and hugged him, he was soaked with sweat but i didn't care. nothing mattered besides the fact Gryffindor had just won.
he spun me around and then let me down gently.

"Hallie!" he said loudly.
"what!" i smiled. the crowd was so loud we had to scream to hear each other.
"i have to tell you something!" he yelled. i stared up at him, waiting. a part of my heart was burning for the thing i wanted him to say, my mind was racing, i didn't even notice how hard my heart was pounding.
"i-" he stuttered, his teammates around him all celebrating, but my mind was on him, my eyes lost in his.

"i like you." he says, finally spitting the words out.
i stare up at him, he's sweating from the Quidditch match and his hair is sticking to his skin. i smile, my cheeks turning red.
"i think i like you too" i say, not being able to contain the smile that was spread across my lips.

George smiled and leaned down, his hands gravitating to my waist, i could feel my stomach twisting as he bent down and placed his lips upon mine. i melted into his touch, i kissed him back, his soft, perfect lips.
i ran my fingers through his sweaty hair and we pulled apart.

"i knew it!" Sage cheered, her and Fred watching us. i laughed, burying my embarrassed face into Georges arms.
he wrapped his arms around me, i had never been happier than i was right now.
i felt like i could die happy now.

i looked up at George.
"so what does this mean for us?" i asked, my arms wrapped around his waist, it felt like time had slowed down and it was just us, nobody around. the sun setting, the sky turning dark blue.
"will you be my girlfriend" he smiled.
"yes!" i said, hugging him tighter, he laughed at my enthusiastic response.
"you have no idea how long i've been waiting to hear that" i said, pulling apart.
he stared down at me. i could just see him admiring me, my face was burning up, i couldn't deal with the amount of butterflies in my stomach.

-

Gryffindor had a party in their common room. George invited me, Fred had invited Sage.
George and I hung out for a while, i couldn't stop hugging him, touching him and knowing he was mine and I was his.
i didn't have to hide my smile anymore, i didn't have to act like i was just a caring friend.

George and I went up to his room after the party had gotten even wilder, music was booming below us as we laid in his bed talking.
he watched me as i played with his hair, i didn't dare look into his eyes. because i knew i would melt.

"you know" i hummed softly.
"hm?" George said, his throat a little rough.
"i never had one thought that you had liked me back" i giggled a little.
"really?" George said softly, his voice sent chills down my spine. i smiled. i could see him out the corner of my eye, admiring me.
i remember imagining what his hair felt like. it was just as soft as i had imagined.
"mhm" i hummed, feeling quite tired, my eyes drifting, Georges body heat beside me making me warm.

the door had flung open, making George and I jump.
came walking in was Fred who was covering his tightly shut eyes.
"no nasty business in here?!" he said.
"ew Fred!" i said, i couldn't imagine doing anything with George right now.
Fred took that as a no and opened his eyes.
"Sage wants you, she's a little well..." Fred mimicked Sage as he began stumbling around the room.
"how much have you had" laughed George.
"6"
"6?!"
"waters" Fred smirked as he winked at us, leaning against the post of his bed and almost toppling over, George quickly grabbed him and carefully helped to lay him down in bed.

"need help with Sage?"
"i've got it" i smiled, grabbing my bag.
George grabbed my arm and turned to me to face him.
he smiled down at me and planted a soft kiss on my forehead, my stomach twisted.
"night" he smiled.
"night" i said as i exited the room.

i inhaled a deep breath, i couldn't contain my smile, i felt like i couldn't stand, God i was so in love. my head was fuzzy. and i wasn't even the one smashed. drunk by love.

1447 words.
