year 3
Third person pov.
Hallie sealed up the letter with Georges name written on the front and used her families owl to send it off along with Sages letter. she watched as the owl flew out and beyond the mountains and over the evergreen trees until he was out of sight.
she collapsed onto her bed, wondering when they would receive the letters, as well as wondering when she would get a letter back.-
Hallies summer was probably her most productive one. she had challenged all her family members at chess (winning most of them) she practiced flying around on her broom (ended up tumbling into a large tree and bruising her back, she hadn't quite figured out the best landing technique yet) she tried out makeup, ended up liking it and began wearing eyeliner everyday for the past months.
she sent letters to her three friends almost everyday. she had a pile of letters on her desk which she enjoyed adding to.she painted more then she had slept, she used up most of her free time practicing certain piano songs and playing with her cat. but as the days of summer passed right by she had missed school more then she thought she would.

Hallie sat on the roof of her cozy home watching as the sun began to set. tomorrow she would be going back to school, she was so excited and could barely keep still as she rocked back and forth, thinking of all the things she had to tell Sage about that wasn't over a letter.
from the corner of Hallies eye she caught her families owl flying towards her with a letter sitting in his beak. she waited for the owl to fly over and drop the letter, which he proceeded to do, then pecked at her hand for a treat.
"ask mum" she said as the owl flew off of her shoulder, leaving a sharp pain from his talons scratching her shoulders.
she didn't care because she had noticed the name on the front of the letter.she tore open the letter and quickly unfolded the paper.
Dear Hallie,
by the time you're getting this letter (which i hope you're getting before you leave for Hogwarts) its probably the night before the Hogwarts Express leaves.
i've been excited to see you, judging by the letters you've been sending, this summer wasn't as bad as you thought it would be.
i hope to see you on the train, Fred and I will find you when we get to platform 9 3/4
- love, George Weasleyp.s i'll teach you how to nail the broom landing :)
Hallie felt the pain in her back as she read the end of the letter and winced.
she looked up, the sun had passed the skyline and there was hardly any light outside, she put the letter back into the envelope and climbed back into her bedroom window as careful as she could. she closed her window and put the letter in an empty drawer which she shoved all her other letters neatly into.she smiled down at the drawer until she gently pushed it shut and sat down onto her bed, running her hands through her hair as she thought about how she would be reuniting with her only few friends she really had tomorrow.

Hallies pov.
"oh we'll miss you so much!" My mum said as she squeezed me into a much tighter hug then i had wanted. my cheeks squished against her skin; i could hardly breathe.
"oh and you three as well" my mum said, letting go of me and grabbing each of my brothers. i turned to give my dad a hug and he hugged me back tightly, but to where i was able to breathe.my eldest brother helped me with my heavy suitcase as he carried it all the way down to an empty compartment, i held my cat Peaches who purred in my arms.
my brother dropped off the suitcase and then he had left, having to do his prefect duties.
i sat down next to the window and saw all the parents waving and crying as they hugged their children tightly.
i saw Sage and quickly waved at her like a mad man to get her attention as i stood up from my seat, Peaches let out a yelp and i apologized, she jumped up on the seat across from me and curled up, giving me a deathly stare. i winced in apology. i looked back up and saw Sage who smiled and began waving at me over the heads of other people, her brother helping her with her suitcase.i sat kicking my feet as i waited. she popped into the compartment, Apollo (her brother) handing off her suitcase and hugging her goodbye.
i got up and jumped onto her, we both hugged each other tightly.
"i like the new look" she smiled at my makeup. "thanks!" i smiled.
she sat across from me, Peaches sat next to her looking curiously between us.
we both chatted about our summers. she talked about how she had gotten a dog (which she had already informed me about in a letter)
how Apollo was going to be taking care of him whilst she was gone, she then complained about how Hogwarts should let you take dogs. i agreed."this the right compartment?" said a voice coming from the door.
Sage and I both looked to the compartment door which was slid open to reveal the head of Fred Weasley, George stood next to him, i could see his torso through the window and just the bottom of his face. christ they had grown, it was creepy.
"nah i don't think so" Sage said sarcastically. Fred had a cheeky grin on his face as he entered the compartment, George quickly waking in behind him.Peaches got up to let Fred take a seat next to Sage, she walked over and jumped up onto my legs, sitting on my lap as she stared up at George who carefully sat next to me.
he stared at my face longer then i expected, i questioned why until i had realized i probably looked a bit different.
"how was your summer?" i asked him.
"oh great" he smiled and quickly looked away as he noticed he was staring for much longer than he wanted to.the train began to move. i saw Mrs. Weasley who waved at our window her eyes glossy.
i looked at George's jumper which seemed to be knitted.
"nice jumper" i smiled at the green jumper which had a large 'G' on it. i looked at Fred who wore one with a large 'F'
"thanks" he said, looking down at his chest.
"mum wanted us to wear them" said Fred.
"i think it's so she can tell us apart" said George as he looked at me.the train ride had the same scenery it had the last two years. i always enjoyed it though.
George and i chatted, i expressed how it was annoying how tall he was growing, he said it would be nice to use me as an arm rest as he propped his elbow up on my head. i brushed him away pointing a finger and scolding him jokingly.Fred talked all about their new joke products, how they were always scaring their siblings and mum with them. Sage had threatened that if they ever used one on her she would stop talking to them for a week.
the rest of the train ride consisted of card games and talking, and most of us falling asleep then waking up to the trolley.
as the sun set, and the night had approached, the sky turning a dark blue, all of our stomachs grumbling with hunger the train had finally come to a stop, all of us hurrying to grab our bags, George helped with my bag kindly as i picked up my cat. i turned to see Sage who was staring up at Fred as he offered to carry her bag and her cheeks were as red as Gryffindor robes.we all grouped into a carriage which took us up to Hogwarts school, Peaches sat patiently in my lap.
once we had made it to the school Peaches had jumped out of my hands and began to walk along the corridors, i hadn't cared because i was starving.
we quickly rushed to The Great Hall, Sage and I parted ways with the twins and we quickly sat down.
the hat had sung a song, and then the first years had been sorted into their houses, then Dumbledore had made a welcome speech and THEN the food had popped up on the table and Sage and I quickly began to load food onto our plates.after eating, our stomachs full and our hearts happy, with our eyes heavy we went up to our room and both collapsed into bed, not caring to unpack. i snuggled closely into my pillows, taking in the scent of Hogwarts. happy to be back.
