year 3
Third Person Pov.
Hallie had awoken the morning of November the 19th on her 14th birthday with a basket of presents at the end of her bed and an alarm clock blaring in her ears.
she shuffled and quickly turned it off, sitting up and rubbing her eyes.
she reached for the basket of presents which held 3 gifts, each neatly wrapped in different colored wrapping paper.she tore off the first one which contained a note and a chunky green knitted sweater.
she read the note.
"Happy birthday Hallie!
our mum wanted to make you something, and, she agreed on you coming to the burrow for Christmas. (ask your parents)
we hope you like it
-Fred and George ;)"Hallie smiled at the letter before pulling out the green sweater and staring at it.
the fabric was really soft and she loved it.
it smelled just like freshly baked cookies and parchment paper.
she opened the next gift which was from Sage.
it consisted off a book she had been wanting as well as a plushie.
she smiled, reading the note from Sage and going on to open the last present which was from her family.
inside was a few pieces of jewelry and some muggle clothes.after making her bedroom a mess she had gotten up and cleaned everything up, put way her things, then got changed into her green sweater and a pair of her new trousers.
she walked over to Sages bed and pulled the curtains back, but to her surprise Sages bed was empty, no Sage. she furrowed her brows and came to the conclusion she must have been already down at breakfast.
so she quickly grabbed her bag and ran out the common room.on her way down to breakfast many of her Quidditch teammates wished her a happy birthday.
she sat down at the Hufflepuff table where she usually sat and noticed Sage who was scribbling frantically on a piece of parchment.
"hey" she smiled. "thank you for the gifts" she smiled. Sage looked up, quickly folding the note and stuffing it into her pocket.
"oh yeah of course. and happy birthday" she smiled.
before Hallie could even say anything else Sage had got up and quickly began to walk away.
"where are you going?" she asked.
"bathroom!" said Sage as she rushed out the Great Hall.Hallie looked around for the twins but hadn't noticed them at the Gryffindor table. she bit onto her tongue then ate her breakfast alone.
after breakfast she went on a hunt to find Sage but had no luck in finding her.
but, luckily there was supposed to be a Hogsmeade trip this weekend so she had decided to go to cure her boredom.
she went up to her dorm to dress into warmer clothes (still hadn't found Sage or anyone she knew) so she decided to go alone.she had felt a bit sour about spending her birthday alone, but she somewhat enjoyed the walk to Hogsmeade, the weather was still very snowy and cold, which she loved.
she walked around Hogsmeade for a while until she had found a tea shop and went inside.
the place was warm, as well as very pink and girlie.
she sat down in a booth next to the window, taking off her coat, gloves and scarf she looked out the window which was frosted over."what can i get you dear?" said the older women who came up to her.
"Green Tea?" said Hallie.
"coming right up" the women smiled and walked off whilst Hallie searched through her bag for sickles.
the women came back and set down Hallies tea along with a tray with sugar cubes, honey and other add ins.
Hallie gave her the sickles and sipped on the hot tea until she had finished.she got up and left soon after, Hogsmeade still as packed as it was when she had gotten there.
she decided to head back to Hogwarts, hoping maybe her friends weren't hiding anymore.-
when she got back she headed up to the Hufflepuff common room and decided she would get some homework done.
she studied for a while, still not seeing Sage or hearing from her.
she worked for a while, taking a break to get some lunch then going back to getting all of her homework done.after finishing her homework she started on the book Sage gave her, about 3 chapters in she noticed it was already time for dinner and recognized how hungry she felt.
she went down to dinner and sat alone again. she was a bit angry at Sage, 'how could she just leave me alone?' she thought, feeling very bitter as she ate her dinner.
after dinner she went back up to the Hufflepuff common room, which was empty.
she collected her things and went up to her room.before entering in she heard a bunch of shuffling and whispering voices. she furrowed her brows and quickly opened the door.
the room was dark and she had barely any time to adjust her eyes in the dark before the room light had flashed on and a few voices had shouted surprise very loudly.she gasped as she looked around.
her dorm was decorated with party streamers and way too many balloons to count.
Sage stood over by her bed with Fred, and George was standing by Hallies bed with a party hat and a gift in hand.
a smile had stretched across Hallies face and the bitter feeling she felt had washed away and she quickly walked inside and hugged Sage tightly, trying to get past the millions of balloons that covered their bedroom floor."how did they get in here?!" asked Hallie.
"climbed through the window" smirked Fred as he gave Hallie a side hug.
Hallie gave George a hug as well, her cheeks flushing pink.
"i was really pissed at all of you!" Hallie stomped her foot.
"we're sorry! i felt terrible but we were planning this all day" Sage gestured around the room.
balloons were hung from the ceiling and on Sage and Hallies desk was a small cake and other treats, as well as more gifts."you really didn't have to do this!" Hallie smiled at them. she realized she had amazing friends. she wouldn't trade them for anyone else.
"after avoiding you all day, yes we have too" said George who looked a bit guilty.
"where did you get all this food" Hallie laughed.
"oh yeah" Fred said.
"Fred and I sneaked down to the kitchen of course"
"i don't think the elves like us all too much"
Hallie and Sage laughed and then they all decided to get the party started.Fred and George showed the girls many of their products, like a hat which made it look like their own head had disappeared, and some fake spiders they liked to use on their brother Ron.
(Sage and Hallie hated the spiders. fake or not)after the twins chased the girls around with the spiders and Sage was practically abusing Fred by hitting him with a pillow over the head thousands of times they decided to watch Hallie unwrap her presents.
George had gifted her a necklace with a dainty charm of the moon. which Hallie had loved.
Sage gave her yet another gift which was another plushie. and Fred gifted her some interesting treats.after eating the cake and singing happy birthday, George had wanted to take Hallie out on a fly. Fred and Sage allowed them to do so.
they both got on their brooms and flew around for a while, chasing each other, racing each other and hitting a ball back and forth.after getting tired out they both zoomed back to Hallies dorm and when they had gotten back Sage and Fred were both sitting opposite to each other on Sages bed talking and laughing.
Hallie decided she was pretty tired and thanked them once again for the party, it had made her day.
the twins left to let the girls sleep and as Hallie got ready for bed Sage went on about the time she spent with Fred that made her feel all giddy inside, she laughed and kicked her feet, stuffed her face in her pillow and hid her very bright pink cheeks until Hallie could no longer take it and fell asleep.1402 words.
