chapter 37

Year 5

Hallies pov.

"it's a horrible idea that's what it is" i bit as the twins had downed their aging potion.
i crossed my arms and rolled my eyes, Sage stood next to me anxiously agreeing.
as the twins jumped into the age line everyone cheered because it had been a success.
but not for too long.

the both of them put their names into the goblets smirking wide as ever.
i'm a little impressed.
things were a bit strange between George and I and i was already agitated, then he told me about his and Fred's "well thought out plan" (quoted by him) i was obviously angry because why would he enter himself into a dangerous competition. he was so reckless sometimes it made me mad.

there were a plethora of things that i was mad about.
number one, i had just recently been notified that there was no Quidditch because of the world cup.
number two, George was being overly protective recently which was getting on my every last nerve. even when i left to hang out with Sage he would drill me about who i was hanging out with. he never used to be this protective.
number three, George being reckless like he currently was.
number four, my grades weren't exactly perfect right now. that's the main reason Cedric Diggory and I had been hanging out.

Cedric was quite good in school and he was a great study partner. he helped me out when i needed it without it being complete cheating. and we regularly ran into each other in the Hufflepuff common room so he was definitely considered a good friend of mine. we hung out at other places, we played Quidditch between the two of us and he was just a good friend.

the flames from the goblet had begun to fire up wildly around the room and Fred and George were both lifted off their feet and thrown out of the ring.
i gasped, Sage grabbed onto my arm and gasped, placing her hand over her wide mouth.
both of them sat up slowly feeling their new white beard and long white hair.
my eyes were wide open as my hand was also placed over my mouth in shock.
"you said—" George said.
"you said!" Fred growled. and they had both began to tackle each other on the floor.
everyone crowded around and chanted as they grunted.

we all turned around as the doors opened and the room had become more ominous.
Krum walked in. the twins still fighting on the ground.
he walked in and put his name in the goblet. then turned and walked out.

"Sit down please. And now the moment you've all been waiting for, the champions selection!"
Dumbledore spoke as all of us students sat down.
it had been a few days later after the incident of Fred and Georges potion going miserably wrong.
things between George and I had still been quite awkward so we had been sitting apart.
Sage sat next to me shortly afterwards.
"what's going on with you and George?"
"hm?"
"you two have been so weird? did you not make up after the whole potion thing?"
"i've just been really trying to get my grades up" i gritted my teeth. trying to act like George and I were fine. for some reason i hadn't felt like telling Sage about us.

Dumbledore begins to approach the blue flame and it glows a bright red. a name comes out and Dumbledore take the paper between his fingers as he pulls it open to read the name. everyone looks around anxiously.
"The Durmstrang champion is... Viktor Krum!" Dumbledore announces. The Durmstrang crowd cheer loudly and pat their fellow school mate on the back as he walks up.

Another name comes out of the fire and Dumbledore takes that one too.
"The champion from Beauxbatons... Fleur  Delacour!" The Beauxbatons girls cheer as Fleur walks up. Another name comes out the fire. everyone now anxious to see who is chosen for Hogwarts. even i am on the edge of my seat.

"The Hogwarts champion... Cedric Diggory." Hogwarts pupils cheer the loudest as Cedric takes the stage. i cheer loudly for him and can see him smiling at his mates then me. i give him a thumbs up and he smiles wider.
