chapter 36

year 5.

Hallies pov.

i knocked onto my dorm room door, the twins behind me. Fred couldn't keep still he was so determined on seeing Sage.
"Sage! it's me!" i called out. i heard her footsteps and then the door opened.
Sage looked like she had been laying in bed all day, her eyes were puffy from crying and her curly hair looked extremely wild.
she looked from me to the twins and tried to close the door.
i pushed it open and walked in, inviting the twins inside.

"Sage he doesn't care about your parents!" i told her as she began to walk to the bathroom.
"please just leave" Sage clearly was just trying to push them away. that's what she always did, it's what she tried to do whenever i found out about her parents. i didn't let her.

i quickly grabbed her wrist, pulling her back. both of the twins stood behind me, Fred quickly swapping places with me, he grabbed onto Sage who clearly wasn't having it.
"Sage. you know i think nothing different of you. Hallie explained everything" Fred said softly, Sage didn't even want to look him in the eyes, she stared down at her feet with her jaw locked.

Fred grabbed Sages chin and lifted her head up.
"Sage"
"hm?"
"come here love" Fred wrapped his arms around Sage who immediately melted to his touch, she wrapped her arms around him and George and I looked at each other sweetly.
"and you know i don't care either" George said after a while of them hugging. the both of them eventually pulling apart.

"everyone who looks at you differently doesn't know the real you. don't let them get to you. don't hide up in here letting them get what they want." Fred said, Sage looked like she couldn't be any more in love with someone.
"we love you" i smiled leaning on Georges shoulder. even though inside i was raging at Draco who i knew spread the information.
"i love you guys too" Sage looked at us realizing that she had the best friends probably.
"group hug!" George said as he pulled all of us in, we all laughed and hugged each other.

i looked at Sage giving her a 'i told you so' look, she rolled her eyes at me.
i could see the tears in her eyes. i knew she appreciated us more than ever.

the next day i had convinced Sage to come down for breakfast. she eventually caved in.
students looked at her weirdly and avoided walking near her, some whispered about her when we walked past, some even shouted insults at her, Sage had to hold me back from kicking their arses.

we sat down at our table, most of the Hufflepuffs around us didn't care about Sages parents, they didn't even give such as a glance to see her sitting down. i assumed it was going away with the talk of the world cup.

"look who it is!" Draco said walking down the aisle.
i gritted my teeth.
"Hallie" Sage said quietly as she ignored Draco altogether.
"go away Malfoy" i hissed at him.
"i'm not here for you Gold" he spat.
"do you enjoy the popularity Jackson? or are you going to cry?" Draco mimicked sobs.
Pansy Parkinson laughed as she continued walking with Draco.
"that's it" i growled as i got up.
"Hallie!" Sage shouted as she grabbed my arm, i violently yanked it out of her grip and began storming after Draco.

"Draco!" i shouted, the whole entirety of the hall had gone quiet and i could see people's eyes on me.
might as well deal with getting in trouble.
"oh shi-" Draco began but my fist had already made contact with his face and i heard a crack as a searing pain went through my fist.
everyone in the hall gasped and Draco whined falling backwards.
i winced at the pain in my fist.
"there's a crying person for you" i spat at him, Parkinson was on her knees tending to his blood covered nose with panic.

i heard marching behind me as i turned to see Mcgonagall who was very clearly angry and Snape who was walking just behind her.
i looked to see George at his table with his jaw on the floor and Fred who was laughing into his hands.
Snape grabbed ahold of my arm. i winced at his  tight grip as he pulled me away. Mcgonagall was tending to Draco who was curled in a ball on the floor.
"get moving Gold." Snape hissed as he pulled me very harshly, i was going to loose my circulation. my fist was pulsing terribly as he took me up to Dumbledores office.

after getting punished by having to do detention with Snape on Saturday and getting house points taken away i finally got to go down to Madam Pomfrey and get my hand fixed.

as i left Dumbledores office and was on my way to Madam Pomfrey George had been waiting for me outside of the Hospital wing.
"are you okay?" George asked as he rushed up to me and gently grabbed my hand.
"i'll be alright" i smirked at the thought of what pain Draco was going through right now.
"you can't tell me Draco didn't deserve it though" i smiled. George shrugged.

we walked in the Hospital wing and Madam Pomfrey put some medicine on my hand to heal it then wrapped it in a bandage.
it had began to feel much better.
for some reason knowing Draco was most likely in here behind one of those white curtains made me smirk. he deserved it for spreading all those things about Sage and everything else he's ever done that was shitty.
i think the pain in my hand was really the least of my problems.

George and I walked out of the Hospital wing and went to the library to study.
"hey Hallie!" i heard from behind me as George and I walked hand in hand, the both of us turned around to see Cedric jogging our way.
"how's the hand?" he asked breathlessly.
"you saw that"
"everyone saw it" Cedric smirked.
"my hands pretty good thanks for asking" i smiled.
"hey if you ever want to hang out sometime, just let me know" he said. "see you later?"
"oh okay yeah!" i smiled as he walked off.

George began walking again, i followed him, intertwining our hands again.
"what's with him?" George asked.
"hm?"
"are you friends?"
"yeah kind of"
George hummed then we turned into the library.
i furrowed my eyebrows at him, he looked almost jealous, i could see he was gritting his teeth and he looked annoyed.
there was no way he was jealous over Cedric. i was head over heels for George. i was in love with him, to be fair he didn't know that part but he knows i wouldn't up and leave him.

i shook it off as we both sat down at a table because i needed to study and so did he.
