Karl and Sapnap were restocking the supply warehouse along with George, they were returning from Kinoko Kingdom since they were going to fight alongside the L'Manburgueans, they had to do their part in the material as well. An unexpected glow in Karl's book stopped them from their journey and the next thing they knew a portal had now formed in front of them, Karl had to leave for the next event but he really didn't want to abandon his friends in the battle.

Karl: I don't have to-

George: no. This is your responsibility, it is equal to or more important than the coming battle

Karl: From what you said about the masquerade, things will surely not work out!

Sapnap: Karl... It's okay, it's not the first battle we've fought, you go there, we'll be together when you least expect it

Nikki was going to the training field where the troops were, they were all being trained by Sam, Punz and Eryn, when they saw the woman enter, they all stopped their activities, Nihachu did not enter the field unless something was going to happen

Tommy and Ghostbur were also present, but they usually practiced archery even though they didn't need as much training as the rest of the volunteers. They saw the German woman walking through the central courtyard and assumed that Sally or Puffy had sent someone or the entire troop in general to speak.
