*Scarlette's POV*

"So, what are we doing for New Years?" Rian asked as we were all sitting around in Alex's basement.

"LET'S GET WASTED!" Jack cheered, "But seriously, party at my place, I've invited a shitload of people."

"Jack, it's the afternoon, we have until ten o'clock this evening." Rian reminded him.

"I invited all of Hey Monday, Rian, so you'll get to see your beloved Cassadee..." Jack pretended to swoon over her.

"All of us women here, excluding Alex, are going to get manicures and our hair done for the rest of the day, so adios, Jack!" Avery said before grabbing my wrist and pulling me out the door.

We picked up Cass and we all headed to the mall to get our nails done, which I totally didn't want to do.

"How about a French manicure?" Avery asked.

"No!"

"C'mon!" Cassadee begged.

"Ugh...fine..." I gave in.

Avery and Cass squealed with joy as the coaxed me into the nail place, where I had to sit still for forty-five minutes because apparently I had 'unhealthy nails'. I didn't even know that was a thing...

As we walked to the hair salon, Avery brought up Zack and I.

"When do you guys see each other, anyway?" Avery asked.

"He picks me up from Alex's at four in the morning, and we just hang out in his car for an hour." I shrugged.

"When people hear 'secret relationship', they imagine something full of daring adventures, but you guys just sit in a car?"

"Yup."

"That sounds really boring." Cass said.

"Eh."

We approached the salon and I found out that since Avery had scheduled the appointment a week ago, she had told the stylist to re-dye my hair.

"No, I want to keep the blue!" I whined.

"You're going to keep the blue," Avery reassured me, "but your natural brown hair is obvious, so I'm having them dye your hair black, then dye the ends different shades of blue."

"Dude, if it turns out like the green-"

"It's not going to be that bad!" Avery said.

I sighed and took a seat in the chair between both Avery and Cass. The three of us waited patiently until the stylist was done, and then Avery drove us to her house.

"I still can't get over how cool your hair looks!" Cass complimented me once we got inside Avery's house.

"Thanks."

"Cass already brought her stuff, so Scar, since you don't even own dresses, you're going to have to borrow one of mine." Avery said after she directed Cassadee to the bathroom.

"Do I have to wear a dress?" I complained.

"Yes! It's New Years, you have to!"

I groaned as Avery shoved a black dress in my direction.

"Here, go put this on."

I went into another bathroom to put on the dress and I stood there for a while, staring at my reflection. The black dress was tight fitting, which made me feel really uncomfortable, but you know, whatever, I'll forget about it.

"Let us see!" Cass started banging her fists against the door.

"Don't break my door! It's expensive!" I heard Avery shout in the background.
