The 16th of September marked the start of a new chapter in my life. The day me and Astrid promised to commit to each other, to love each other unconditionally and form an unbreakable bond only to be broken in Valhalla. The day we got married. 

Her silky golden locks cascaded down her back as she stood facing me at the altar. Her intricately sewn white gown made by her mother and my mother. The deadly nadder medallions holding up her white fur cape behind her. She looked stunning. 

The only thing going through my mind was, how could I guy like me get so lucky to marry his crush?

It has been a year after our marriage. We were just chilling in the house when Astrid suddenly stood up and ran to the bathroom. 

Of course, I ran after her only to find her hunched over the toilet bowl, throwing up. In the recent weeks, this has been happening quite frequently. Almost everyday in fact.

It got so bad to the point where we had to see Gothi. When we got to Gothi's, I was asked to go back home for some reason. 

But right now my priority is Astrid and whatever Gothi says, it's better to listen. So I went back home and just rested until Astrid came back. 

After about an hour, I heard the front door open from upstairs. I ran down to find Astrid in a very solemn state. 

"Astrid..., everything all right at Gothi's?" I chose my words carefully. I didn't want to evoke an unwanted emotion from her. 

Out of the blue she pounced on me and gave me a big and tight bear hugs with some of the best news I'll ever get, "I'm pregnant, Hiccup! You're gonna be a dad!"

The months slowly past by. We first found out that Astrid was pregnant at 8 weeks. Life was an absolute roller coaster after that. 

One day she was over the moon, jumping around full of energy. The next day she's either having a breakdown over small things and crying in our room for ours. Or, she's just really mad at everyone and doesn't want to speak to anyone.

Then the crazy days where every hour it's a different mood. Happy, sad, depressed, angry. She even has a high sex drive sometimes that she's begging me to do things to her. But of course, I didn't and just let her be until she calms down. 

8 weeks became 4 months. 4 months became 6 months and 6 months became a week till our due date.

Astrid's pregnant belly was definitely a nuisance to her. She was really annoyed by the fact that she couldn't do simple tasks like putting on her boots or bending down to pick up something.
