Winter couldn't sleep. after taking a brief shower, she takes her coat, and gets out of her unit. She goes to the bus-stop, waiting for the bus that'll come in two hours. it's a long time for some people but not for Winter. just with a pack of cigarette and her old android phone, she can have her alone time.

"what else do you want?"

Winter heard Karina's voice. Looks like she's calling someone. Winter ignores her.

"you're okay a few days ago. How come you got sick?" Karina sits beside Winter. "there's no mart around here." She looks around, hoping to find a local pharmacy. "alright, I'll visit you later."

"three blocks from here." Winter chimed in. "there's a pharmacy."

"oh really?" Karina then looks at her watch. "I think I can go there before the bus came."

"for Yeji?" Winter looks at her.

"yeah. She's not going to work." Karina smiles a little.

"oh." Winter looks away. "what time do you get off work?"

"about six. Why?" Karina wondered.

"nothing."

-

Winter finishes her cigarette as the evening bus came. She quickly gets in, immediately noticing Karina sitting on the middle row. Karina smiles at her, taking of one of her headsets.

"hi!" Karina greeted as Winter sits beside her.

"here's for Yeji. I heard you'll visit her." Winter gave her a plastic bag.

"oh, how nice. How much are these?" Karina takes out her phone. "I'll pay it back."

"no need."

Karina then averted her gaze somewhere. Meanwhile, Winter got occupied with herself, playing with her phone while listening to some music.

Once they arrived, Winter immediately walks out first, followed by Karina. Feeling like Karina is no longer following, Winter turns around and walks out of the building. Turns out, Karina is sitting at the bus stop.

Winter can only watch from afar. It's getting dark and it could be dangerous. After some time waiting, Winter noticed a car. Looks like it's an Uber. When Karina gets into the car, Winter goes back to her apartment.

"Wendy needs some money to run her business. We need to help her so she can help us!"

Again, Winter heard her father scolding her mother.

"how is that make sense?" Winter sighs, walking past them.

"what did you say?" the father quickly averted his gaze at Winter. "show me some respect. You live under my roof."

"I'm sorry." Winter looked at him then walks away.

"see that? that's what you taught her? what kind of parent are you?" he groans frustratingly.

"you have no right to judge me like that." the mother sternly said.

"oh, I have. I'm your husband."

Meanwhile, Winter sits on her bed, listening to her parents arguing. She doesn't know how long she can handle this. she can't live like this forever.

Winter goes to her desk and put on her new headphones. She then starts working on some videos.

Just after she got her peace, she can hear her door opening. Winter looks at it and see her mother walks in. she takes off her headphones, hangs it on her neck.

"can I borrow some money?" the mother asked.

"is it for you or dad?" Winter looks at her.

"for your sister." The mother looks down. "I promise I will work again."

"I need to save for my study. I can't give you anything right now." Winter said honestly. She needs to start saving for herself, her own needs. "I'm sorry."

"I can understand. I'll talk to him again."

"will she really help us? isn't she smart enough to make a lot of money? Why does she keeps asking from him?" Winter sighs.

"she said she needs some funding."

"I thought she's already successful." Winter turns her head, trying to be tough. As much as she wants to help her mother, if the money ended up in her father's pocket, it'll all be useless. "I really can't help you... or him, at the moment."

"okay. I'm sorry."

"it's not your fault." Winter tried assuring the woman. "can you please give me some time alone?"

"sure."
