CHAPTER 58

Waking up feeling tired, Winter looks to the side and found Karina beautifully sleeping. she turns to the side and wraps her arm around Karina's figure. Aside from the peaceful morning that they have, Winter still can't shake off the pain in her head, most likely from how much she drinks last night.

"my head hurts." Winter whines. "I don't wanna leave this bed."

"want me to get you some aspirin?" Karina slips her hand to reach Winter's head. "is it bad?" she tries to get up. Winter prevented her by hugging her tighter.

"don't. are you busy today?"

"I can skip a day, working from home. I can send my work to my assistant." Karina closes her eyes again.

"so you're a boss now?" Winter smiles.

"technically. Being a general manager is not that easy." Karina sighs. "I gotta tell me boss first."

"okay." Winter loosen up a bit to let Karina reach for her phone and make her call.

"what about you?" Karina asked back.

"I hope I'm free. My professor won't care about me having a hangover. I have two months to finish the project then he'll launch it."

"you should take credits for it. you and your team. Get a copyright to know that you made it." Karina reminded.

"I know. we're working to get that along the way. If this succeeded, the program will be ours still. That's what he said and its written on the contract."

"okay, good to know." Karina smiles a little, putting her phone back on the bedside table. "do you wanna have breakfast or we can cuddle for some more time?"

"second would be better."

Winter lets Karina work on her computer while Winter herself can take the program to her laptop. While that happened, Winter is on a call with Chaehyun because apparently, Winter is the only one that didn't come to campus. That way she can talk to them from Chaehyun's phone.

"no, no, no. check the part that I changed. That's what you just said." Winter said to Yeonjun.

"and you better check your girl." Yeonjun's laughs can be heard. "anyway..."

"hey, my girlfriend is here. Watch your mouth." Winter furrowed her eyebrows.

"professor Wang asked us if we can finish this early. His investors are waiting." Chaehyun informed.

"we might have to lose some sleeps if that's what he wants." Winter replied. "I don't want that. the deal is in three months. We have that much time to make it perfect."

Karina looks back at Winter. she remembers that Winter said something quite bothering last night. Of course, she trusts the girl to not do anything stupid, but she needs more explanation from Winter.

"Winter?" Karina walks over to the bed. "can you mute the call? I just have something in my mind."

"ooh... someone's getting interrogated." Yeonjun chimed in.

"oh, shut up." Winter then mutes the call. She looks at Karina. "is it about something I did last night?"

"yeah." Karina grabs her hand to make it less tense. "do you remember anything?"

"depends on what part of the night." Winter looks away, feeling flustered. "if you're asking about when I'm at the bar, I hardly remember anything aside from Yeonjun keeps telling me to drink. I ended up in this room with you."

"you said something about someone pretending to be me."

Winter looks down, trying to remember things at the bar.

*FLASHBACK*

"I told you it's enough." Winter wipes her mouth after Yeonjun chugged a drink on her.

"hey, you gotta have fun for once! Look at Kai!"

Winter noticed that Kai is dancing with Chaehyun. It's clear that they're both drunk and Yeonjun didn't seem to get high even a little bit.

"you're quite strong for someone who doesn't drink."

"I'm at my limit." Winter glares at Yeonjun. Though she's trying to see things clearly, she can't hold it much longer.

As if she's intoxicated, Winter asks for more booze from Yeonjun. In the very ack of her mind, she remembers that Karina wants to give her a surprise. Without Winter knowing, Yeonjun calls one of his friends that's also at the bar with them.

"she's wrecked. You go have fun with her." Yeonjun said to the girl.

"are you okay?"

Winter looks up seeing a girl that resembles Karina. Long dark hair, tall, with fair skin. Winter smiles at her.

"what are you doing here?" she asked. "is this your surprise for me?"

"yes it is."

The girl drags Winter to the dancefloor by the hand and guides Winter to dance with her. Winter places her hands on the girl's waist. Something is off about this but Winter thought that Karina just wears something that changed her body.

"did you put on a new perfume?" Winter asked her.

"I did."

"your hair..." Winter smells it.

This isn't right, Winter thought. She pushed the girl away and walks back to her table. At least she tries to get there. Alas, she got trapped in the middle of people who's probably as drunk as her.

"hey! Hey!"

Someone drags Winter out of the crowd. Winter almost got stepped over by some people around her.

"who are you!? get off me!" Winter shakes them off. She realized that she's on a couch.

"you stay here."

Winter huffs. Feeling angry at Yeonjun what he did, she looks around, trying to find him. she walks slowly to her table, keeping her balance as stable as she can. Turns out, Yeonjun is not there. Well, she sits down and continues to drink.

"how's she? You guys having fun?" Yeonjun's voice disturbs her.

Winter turns around, stands up from her seat, and swings her fist at him.

"you fucking annoys me!" Winter shouts at him.

"whoa, calm down, mate! I just want you to have fun!" Yeonjun grabs her wrists. he's not angry, though. It's normal for him for Winter to act like that. "I'm sorry!"

"fuck you. I wanna go home."

Karina takes her time on processing Winter's not-so clear story. She lets out a deep breath before she speaks.

"at least you didn't do anything with her." she commented. "I'm proud of you."

"thank you for trusting me."
