GIVE ME LOVE (WINRINA AU)

CHAPTER 13

Winter knocks on Karina's door. Her intention is to learn more about Yeji. since she's the only person she's close with, Winter decided to talk to Karina.

"what's up, Winter? Is everything okay?" Karina greeted her kindly, allowing her to come in and sit down.

"I wanna ask about Yeji." Winter looks down, fiddling with her fingers.

"it's okay. you can be open with me." Karina smiles at her. "I'm happy to help you."

Winter doesn't know where to start. In result, she stays silent for a good minute. Meanwhile, Karina is patiently waiting for her.

"I'm sorry, I don't know where to start."

"it's okay, Winter. Take your time." Karina then stands up, walking to the kitchen.

Winter's eyes follows where Karina is going while thinking of something to ask. Shortly after, Karina comes back with a chocolate bar and a drink.

"how's your class today?" Karina asked.

"it was okay. I'm getting used to the classes." Winter replied after taking a bite of the bar.

"you look nervous." Karina tilts her head, trying to figure her out. Tell me what do you like about Yeji."

"my friend told me she's pretty." Winter shrugs.

"that's not a valid reason to like someone. But, I get it. She's pretty." Karina smiles, understanding that this might be Winter's first time.

"I mean, I also think she's pretty. She's always there for me. I like her attention. I just feel like I matter. She makes me feel like I'm important and she cares about me." Winter's words came out like a train. She then looks up at Karina. "I think... that's all I can figure out."

"that's great. I'm happy you can be honest to yourself." Karina responded. "one thing I know for sure is Yeji likes to be bold. When she likes someone, she'll give everything for them."

"isn't that too much? I don't wanna be her burden." Winter got confused.

"she won't think like that. If she makes you feel like you're important, then, you are important for her." Karina reassures her.

"but it's too fast. I don't wanna make her wait either." Winter bites her bottom lip nervously.

"then, do it your pace. Tell her." Karina suggested. "if it's hard for you, you can take it slow."

"I know that." Winter sighs. "do you think I deserve to be with her?"

"everyone deserves to be loved. That's for sure. It's not my place to speak about that." Karina responded.

"I see."

Soobin approaches Winter who's siting on the bench at the back of the store.

"what's up with your face, my friend?" Soobin sits beside her.

"just thinking." Winter takes a glance at him. "I think I wanna be her girlfriend. It's empty without her calls and texts."

"great! That's the sprit. When are you gonna ask her?"

"I don't know. When I'm ready, I guess." Winter said as she places the cigarette between her lips. "how?" she added after huffing out the smoke.

"just ask." Soobin then then stands up, facing Winter. "you are everything to me, I want you to be mine and I'll be yours. Will you be my girlfriend?" Soobin acted out, taking Winter's hand. "just like that."

"gross." Winter slaps his hand away. "there's no way I'm doing that."

"then what are you gonna do?" Soobin sighs.

"just... ask her right away." Winter looks at him. "I'm not sure either."

"I'm sure you can figure that out."

Even when she's busy editing, winters mind can't ignore the thought of Yeji. she's starting to wait for her texts and calls, she's missing her company when she's not around, and she felt something is missing without Yeji's presence.

"my class ended early. I'm editing right now." Winter replied to Yeji's call.

"that's nice. I wish I can work from home."

"one day you'll be able to do that. I think you have to reach the highest position for that to happen." Winter responded, spinning her chair left and right. "will you come to the store again tonight?"

"if you want to I can come."

"you don't have to. I'm just asking." Winter sighs.

"you sure? You sound troubled."

"no, it's okay. you'll be tired if you pick me up every day." Winter let out a small laugh. "I'll call you again later."

"my work is all done. I can finish the rest at home. Can we talk a little longer?"

"I'm not done with mine. We can talk after you got home. Until then, we can text. Okay?" Winter suggested.

"promise?"

"yes. I promise."

Getting off work, Winter quickly changes her clothes at the locker room.

"where's your girlfriend?" Soobin shows up, leaning on the wall.

"she's not my girlfriend. Yet." Winter said as she stuffs her uniform in her backpack.

"oh, so you're sure that she will?" Soobin teased, wiggling his eyebrows.

"shut up." Winter stifles a laugh. "we'll see about that."

"you can do it. She'll be lucky to have you." Soobin cheers for her.

Then, Winter feels her phone vibrates. She instantly knows that it's from Yeji.

"hey." She placed her phone on her ear. Soobin, being nosy, walks over to her and leans closer to the phone.

"are you done? I miss you."

"I just finished. I'm on my way home." Winter pushed Soobin away from her. "why are you still awake? Can't sleep?"

"I just woke up. Can you come out?"

"come out? Are you outside?" Winter looks at Soobin with her eyes shot open.

"yes. I wanna see you."

"she's outside? At this hour?" Soobin reacted the same. "you should really go. I'll see you tomorrow. Good luck, bud."
