A/N Y'all... 🥺

Deku’s POV
A date! It’s been so long since Kacchan and I could just be alone and from the way he led me you would think he knew this town inside out. I couldn’t help giggling as I held his hand, smiling bigger when he turned to smile at me.

We took a bus and when we got off I saw a small cafe and my stomach growled, okay I haven’t eaten anything since lunch, I should have gotten a snack or something when we were at the food court but I thought the smoothie would be plenty before dinner.

Kacchan however just smirked at me and led me to the cafe as if this was where he was taking me in the first place.

“Let me order for you? I want to surprise you,” he whispered after we were seated and I just nodded, smiling even bigger. I wonder what the special occasion is? It’s not our anniversary, or my birthday or anything. But here he is being extra sweet anyway.

“I can almost smell the smoke from you thinking too much,” he laughed, teasing me before holding my hand across the table. “What are you thinking about?”

“I’m just trying to figure out what the special occasion is,” I answered honestly but he just laughed, shaking his head.

“I just really wanted to spend time with you, Toshi is great but it’s been a long time since it was just us,” he whispered, gently rubbing his thumb over my knuckles. I nodded a little dazed by his answer. It really has been a while since we have been able to be alone. Actually, the closest to a date we have had before now was when Mom and Dad took Toshi to the Bakugo’s with Aiko for a playdate. Our date was Kacchan making us dinner and watching movies in our room.

So does that make this our first real date?

“Now that we are 16 we can go out on our own and I just didn’t want to wait if I didn’t have to,” Kacchan whispered, still holding my hand and I let my fingers squeeze his and smiled at him.

“I like this,” I answered, only for him to kiss my hand the way I like. I really need to get more romance movies, Kacchan was really quick to pick up that I liked this small gesture. I wonder what else we could do together?

Our food came and it turned out Kacchan ordered katsudon for me with an extra side of vegetables and a banana milkshake. Getting himself something so spicy that it kind of burned my nose just smelling it from here but he gave me a bite when I asked for it anyway. Probably the whole reason he ordered me the milkshake now that I think about it.

We flirted, something that we usually don’t get to do around Toshi. At least not on purpose. We chatted about nothing at all and Kacchan would get really red when I would say something that could easily be misunderstood and it was just too cute how he tried not to overreact.

“Kacchan, I love you,” I whispered, we had finished our meal and were now walking outside, holding hands.

“I love you so much, I hope you never know,” he whispered sadly but his eyes were so gentle that I couldn’t bring myself to even ask. He gets like this sometimes, as if we will never see each other again and when he gets like this he wants to hold onto me tighter.

Sometimes I wonder why that is. I asked once and he shook his head and said, “I was just thinking that I never want to lose you.” We were ten, I don’t have a clue as to why he is so afraid of me leaving him but I’m not letting him go for anything, ever.

Before long I looked around to see that the sun was setting but he was still leading me deeper into a nature park that I hadn’t even noticed that we entered. I followed until he brought me to a small hill that overlooked a good portion of town, the sun setting in the distance.

“Somehow this seems familiar,” I whispered but I was too dazzled by the view to think about it too much. We settled down on the hill and watched the sunset and when it was long gone we looked up to see the stars.

“We used to come here when we were brats. Before the first time we moved,” he answered after several more minutes of just looking up at the night sky. "Before we were married," he added softly.

“You remember that even after all these years?” I asked him surprised and he just chuckled and hugged me close while we laid back on the still warm earth. As time passed by it grew darker and more beautiful until I couldn’t hold in a yawn anymore and he chuckled a little before helping me up.

“Time to go home,” he whispered, when we were both standing up he kissed my knuckles again but when he went to pull away I stopped him. He looked at me confused for a moment but did what I wanted anyway.

“I want something,” my voice got quieter but I had his full attention.

“What is it? I’ll get it if I can,” he studied me and I know that he is serious but I also don’t want to force him to do anything that he doesn’t want to do.

“No Kacchan, I just,” how do I tell him this? “I want to do something with you but only if you are okay with it.” I looked back up into his sparkling red eyes and even during the night they look like they have a bit of fire inside of them.

He smiled happily before clearing his throat, “What is it? I probably want to too.” He looked nervous and happy and mostly excited, making me relax a lot more.

"A kiss? Like real married couples do," I fidgeted but he stepped closer and swept my hair out of my face so he could see me more easily.

"Izuku, we are a real married couple. I would love to kiss you," he whispered and he looked so happy and yet he still hesitated. "Is it really okay?"

I smiled up at him and nodded my head praying he would actually kiss me, images of the few romantic movies we've seen flashing through my mind while I waited. I licked my lips, nervous when he just stood there, studying me. He seemed to make up his mind and leaned down brushing his nose against mine and I leaned forward to meet him, our lips finally meeting for just a moment before we leaned in again this time his soft lips pressed against mine, opening just a little, I used my tongue to lick just the outside of his lips.

Surprised he almost pulled away but at the last second I tightened my hold on him but I didn't pull him back, he did however lean back in and this time his tongue met mine in the middle.

It feels like my heart is pounding in my chest, and it’s hard to breathe because what if he pulls away because I’m too loud? So whenever we pulled away for just a moment I breathed out and only breathed in while we were together. I set my hands on his waist, careful not to touch anywhere he might not like but still holding him close when he suddenly wrapped his arms around my shoulders, leaning into me as he did.

My heart was pounding so hard that I had to pull away for a minute just to breathe and instead of pulling away or anything he hugged me close. “Dear God, I love you Izuku,” he whispered so low I almost didn’t hear him at all.

“I love you too,” far more than you could ever know, but I couldn’t say that part out loud. After all we are only 16 but sometimes I feel like I am far older and it’s so hard to shake.

Oh well, it’s probably just my mind running to fast anyway.

“Come on, we should start going home before Uncle sends a search party,” Kacchan whispered in my ear and I nodded but didn’t let him go. We just stood there for a few more minutes before we held each other’s hands and Kacchan led the way back out of the park, and then home.
