▪︎Xena's pov:
It was around 1 am when I was jolted awake by a loud thud in my room. My first instinct was to look around with my gold eyes trying to find any silhouette present.
There was no one.
I used my smell too but got nothing.
I reached to turn on the lights from my bed table before I pulled the blanket off me, and climbed off the bed.
As I walked in front of the bed, I found a book on the floor.
Curiously, I went to pick it up.
It was an oddly familiar diary. The front cover had a lot of long scratches, probably made with sharp claws and it looked recent too. I turned it around and in the back, there was an initial.
R.M
Wait a minute...
Rio Magnus.
That's my brother's diary.
Why is it in such a horrible state and why did it appear in the middle of the night?
I opened it and went through the pages. There was a lot of personal note that he wrote about missions that we did before and honestly I don't feel like this is what he wanted me to see.
"Occulta cela et ostende mihi quid sit me ciders"
I recited loudly.
(Unhide the hidden and show me what is meant for me to see)
The diary levitates in the air and the pages quickly flip. It stopped at the very end of the diary before coming back into my hand.
I read.
Hello dear sister,
I don't have the time to go into many details... many hell-world creatures got out in the last full moon. Someone is using dark magic to get them out and they are coming back for revenge. Percy and I already came across a few and they are powerful. Unfortunately, Percy is injured and he's not healing too well.
The person who's letting them out is from Greenburg and those creatures will come your way. I need you to be safe and cautious. If you have to kill, kill. I hope I get to meet you soon.
We love you.
Stay safe.
Rio.I let out a shaky sigh as I sat on the edge of my bed.
The fucking Witch!
All these creatures we captured are dangerous. We risked our lives multiple times to catch them so that other people were safe and believe me it was not easy to capture one. Now that they are more powerful, I could imagine the chaos that they will bring if ever they reached the campus.
That explains the fumus tenebris.
No one will be safe.
I should have been with them.
My blood could have healed Percy and he wouldn't be suffering right now.
Standing up, I walked to my desk.
I grabbed a candle from my drawers and lightened it up. I then grabbed a piece of paper and a pen.
I got your message, rest assured I'll find the person behind this. Please take care and be safe too. Keep me updated on Percy's health and if there is anything I can do to help, let me know.
Love you both too.
Xena.I folded the paper and held it above the fire.
Ut recipiatur in recipiente...
(May it be received by the receiver)
I recited the spell and the paper vanished.
I blow out the candle.

This morning, when I came to the main building, I went to Silas first and I showed him the note that Rio send me. He sighed defeated and told me that his spells didn't work as he thought they would and he agreed to talk to my dad about it.
So here we are in my dad's office.
"All of this happened and you are telling me about it now..." Dad trailed off looking back and forth at me and Silas.
"Better late than never," Silas murmured earning a glare from Dad.
"The Coven Witch is not my main concern right now Dad. I can deal with her... Rio said that a lot of the hell monster got out, we should focus on that. A few days ago a bunch of vampires came across a Fumus tenebris in the wood and yesterday it was close to the edge of the field where a lot of humans were hanging out. This campus will be destroyed if the monsters come here together. " I pointed out.
Dad tensed when he heard the beast's name. He leaned into his chair.
"It's getting dangerous. The last full moon was days ago, there might be more than one Fumus tenebris or other beasts around us. I'll put more patrol around our area and I'll put a curfew for everyone," Dad stated.
"I'll have my hellhound on the border," Silas added making me snap my head to him.
"Your hellhound?" I repeated.
He gave me a nod.
"I have a hellhound that helps me to keep our forest safe. He always patrols the darker area where no werewolves or vampires go and he's always ready to kill without asking any questions. He's known and scared for his ruthless way of killing. Fortunately for us, it kept us safe but unfortunately for him, he's always alone. He's also the one who killed the Coven Witch the other night." Silas explained.
Oh.
The idea of Elijah being alone on the border was not setting well in my stomach. He might kill ruthlessly but so do the hell-world beasts.
"It would be wiser if he is in a group and not alone by the border," I suggested.
Silas shook his head no, "He hates to work with other people."
"Well, for his own safety maybe you should be sterner with him and have him have at least one partner," I added hoping he would agree.
"It'll be hard to get him to agree to that but I can try. And it will be harder to find someone who is ready to work with him."
"That's your responsibility. I'll warn every staff about what's happening so that they can help us and be on their guard. I'll also get every Alpha and Leader of the different communities so that they limit their go out in the forest." Dad told us and we nodded.
"Also dad, this morning, the alphas were not at fault. The Fumus tenebris was close and it affected their feelings pushing their anger on the edge." I spoke firmly.
"I know, I will remove their punishment."
