▪︎Xena's pov:
I was worried.
The black ashes that I put around the area to protect us were still there which means that whoever did this, is in this area. On the campus. Among us.
There was no scent around the body, leaving me clueless about who did this.
"Do you have a real culprit?" Dad asked looking at the werewolf guy beside him.
He shook his head no," No sir."
Dad sighed," Well damn..."
He brought his hand up stroking his beard while thinking about something before turning to face the crowd.
"I'm gonna ask this only once... Did anyone see who did this?" Dad asked sternly.
No one replied but they shook their head no.
"Was there a scent... or any evidence that was near the body and that you unknowingly grab?" he asked.
Again no answer.
"For your sake, I hope that you are all telling the truth because now I will have to take drastic measures to protect this area and everyone related to it," Dad spoke firmly.
As he finishes his sentence, a gust of wind came by, carrying familiar scents that made me snap my body around, facing the woods.
"Hi," Percy grinned widely.
I smiled.
Both Rio and Percy were standing between two trees, with their arms crossed on their chest. I wonder how long they stood there waiting for me to notice them.
"About time, I almost jump on you." Rio chuckled.
Using my speed, I went to them in a second and throw my arms around their necks bringing them into a tight hug. Percy wasn't fazed by my speed and force but Rio did take a step back, almost falling backward. They were both taller and muscular than me so I had to tip toe to reach their neck.
They each wrapped an arm around my back.
"I'm so glad that you are here," I murmured.
"So are we," Rio added.
"We heard about what's happening, no worries now, we got this together." Percy rubbed my back as he mumbled assuring words.
I pulled away and gave them a nod.
Honestly having them by my side, was refreshing and comforting. Giving them one more smile, we walked back to the crowd, who I may add was still looking at us. I stood in the middle while Rio was on my left side and Percy was on my right side.
