▪︎Xena's pov:
"You look stressed," I heard Travon comment.
Right now we were in the Cafeteria having our lunches.
"I'm not stressed but more on my guard." I corrected him.
"Because of the Chimera?" Marina asked curiously and I nodded.
"Is there any particular reason why one of them is occasionally looking at you?" Clayton asked me.
Huh?
I turned around and caught Marlin looking at me with the same stupid smirk.
I turned back to Clayton, "Looks like I'm one of their targets,"
"But they know you are a Tribrid right?" Travon asked confused.
"Yeah, they love challenges and for him, I'm the perfect target," I explained.
"Elijah will not be happy," Clayton added as a matter of fact.
Speaking of Elijah, I still have no idea where he is...
"Speaking of the devil..." Travon trailed off, his eyes following someone behind me. Before I could look back, I felt a kiss on my head, and the chair beside me was pulled back.
Elijah sat beside me.
"Hi," he greeted us.
"Hi,"
"How are you?" I asked him.
He looked exhausted.
"Tired," he answered with a sigh.
"Did you find Professor Silas?" Travon asked him.
"Nope, I looked everywhere where he could potentially go but there was no scent of him, he didn't go to those places. I even checked the nearby forests but again no scent of him, it seems like he disappeared." Elijah explained.
Could he be in the unknown circle that my mom hide Dhalia? That would make sense why he's unreachable...
"Oh shit, did someone kidnap him?" Clayton asked wide-eyed.
"Could be... but we are not sure. Magnus told me to give Silas four more hours, if he doesn't show up, Rio will perform a location spell and I will go get him." Elijah added.
"I'll come with you," I told him.
He nodded while reaching to grab my coffee. He took a sip. My lunch tray was still full as I only snacked on my french fries. I push the tray in front of him and let him enjoy the hamburger that was on it.
He furrowed his eyebrows, "Why aren't you eating?"
"I'm not hungry," I answered.
"Why?"
"Because of the Chimera," Travon butt in.
"Magnus told me about them... but you should eat more in case you need to use your tribrid against them. You need energy." Elijah pointed out.
He's not wrong but I really don't want to eat.
"I'm not hungry besides I already ate some french fries, it'll be enough for me," I reassured him.
"Since when does a small cafeteria portion of french fries fill someone's stomach, especially someone with powers," Elijah spoke with a raised eyebrow.
I rolled my eyes.
"Eat woman," he murmured pushing the tray back to me.
Sighing, I grab the hamburger and ate half of it. When I was done, I handed the half to Elijah. Without saying anything, he grabbed it and finish it.
The bell rang and we made our way to our next class. Elijah went back to the border.
Elijah's pov:
It was the end of lecture hours so I walked back onto the campus to meet up with Xena. Since Professor Silas was still missing, we might have to look for him at night and I just wanted to spend some alone, peaceful time with Raven before it gets too chaotic.
As I walked on the main walkway toward the main door, one of the Chimera approached me. It was one of the girls.
"Hi handsome," she greeted me with what can be described as a seductive smile.
"Can I help you?" I asked her firmly.
Her eyes trailed down at my body shamelessly before looking at me again," You may offer every help and I will gladly accept them."
Huh?
She stared into my eyes and I saw her eyes slowly changing color. Her brown eyes were now purple. She approached me closer and let her finger trail onto my arm.
"Come with me," she said her voice going low.
I could feel the pendant on my necklace getting hot. I know she was trying to hypnotize me and the protection spell that Xena did, was working.
Looking past her shoulder, I could see a pissed-looking Xena walking toward us. Her eyes were glowing gold and she didn't seem to care about the attention she drew from everyone in the front yard.
She looks extremely hot.
With her glowing eyes, her cute outfit, and the wind blowing her hair back as she walks... Like damn, that's mine.
Thankfully no human hangs out at the front.
"Hmmm hello, I'm talking to you baby..." the one in front of me talked.
"And I'll be replying baby,"
Xena talked boredly.
The girl sighs annoyingly before turning around to face Xena.
"Can't you see I'm busy?" the girl stated.
"Gemma, don't test my patience," Xena told her firmly. Her eyes went back to her brown color.
"Really? So you can flirt with my man and I can't get your man? Honey, I always get what I want... Especially when it involves pleasure."
"Get your eyes checked before assuming anything. You want pleasure, find it somewhere else." Xena talked, still calm.
"I want it here and I want him." Gemma insisted.
"I'm giving you one more chance-"
"Oh please, I'm not scared of you." Gemma scoffed.
Xena clenched her jaw, her eyes shifting to gold.
Uh oh.
"I'm only going to say this once and I know your friends are listening to us right now so that implies to them too. Touch anyone close to me whether it's my mate, my friends, or my brothers... I will rip your throat out making you go through the most painful death you'll ever experience, leaving your partner to be a tailless mere lion... That's a Tribrid's words. You wanna go against it, that'll be you choosing your own fate." Xena made herself clear.
"You had to bruise my ego,"
A guy walked behind Xena.
"If you still wanna change into a chimera, I'll suggest you to put some ice on that ego and take your partner away from here." Xena turned to him.
"We are in a nonterritorial area, we can do whatever we want," The guy spoke.
"Certainly we are, but there is a balance. Break that and I'll break you," she spoke firmly.
