We left the lecture room.
As we walked down the hallway-there was some human rushing to their classroom- I felt Clayton hit my arm as he suddenly stopped walking.
"Look over there,"
I look where he was pointing and we saw Elijah wandering by the edge of the wood, doing his rounds.
"What?" I asked Clayton confused.
"We should tell him to handle Asher," Clayton suggested.
I kinda have an idea why he suggested that.
I deadpan, "You just want to see them fight."
Clayton chuckled, "I do. Asher is a dick and I would love to see anyone kick his ass... However, we are talking about soulmates here. Asher needs to understand that he can't claim other's mate... Even if she's a human."
He said in a 'duh' tone.
Right.
Clayton didn't wait for me and used his speed to go to Elijah. I followed him while praying that no human saw us.
Elijah raised an eyebrow, as he found us standing in front of him.
"Hi, you don't know us or maybe you do, we don't know... But we just heard that Asher took Raven to his 'play' room and we thought that you might want to look after him." Clayton spoke straightforwardly.
Guess we are skipping the hello's and the hi's...
We watched as Elijah clenched his fist and his eyes darkened.
Asher is in deep shit.
Xena's pov:
A fuming Elijah walked through the door.
His eyes were dark emerald green and the red lines were showing on his neck. He definitely heard what Asher said and his hellhound was on the edge.
"See what I mean... Look at him. He's a fucking monster." Asher spat out.
Elijah marched forward and that's when I noticed the twin behind him. They gave me a wink-which crept me out seeing how they did it at the same time- before leaning on each side of the door frame, looking at the scene in front of them.
Elijah grabbed Asher by his neck, backing him into the wall, and his back made a big thud as it hit the wall.
"Come on, show her your real face. Fucking monster." Asher gasped as Elijah tightened his grip on his neck.
"I will fucking kill you." Elijah's voice deepened which shows that his hellhound took over. He didn't transform yet but his blue shirt was starting to get random burn holes from his body heat.
The red lines creep on his arms like veins.
He pulled Asher away and threw him onto the chairs and tables by the side. It made a loud noise as Asher broke a few tables with his body weight. He growl, his teeth growing and he looked up, glaring at Elijah. He attacked Elijah.
Well, he tried.
Elijah grab him again and threw him on another set of tables and chairs.
"Elijah," I called him out.
He ignored me.
Asher and Elijah fought for a good minute. Elijah had the upper hand-as his hellhound was showing protectiveness for its mate- and Asher was almost in blood. I looked at the twin and I noticed that Griffin joined them. He was also looking at the scene in front of him, not reaching to help his alpha.
"Griffin, take him away," I told him.
"What, why?" Clayton whined like a child.
"We have enough problems, we don't need a war," I pointed out. The twin understood what I was saying but Griffin looked at me up and down, clearly judging me.
"Go," Travon told Griffin.
Griffin sighed.
He walked in and reached to grab Asher who was laying on the ground, his face covered in blood. Before Elijah could grab Asher again, I walked in front of him and put my hands on his chest stopping him.
Elijah growled.
"Elijah," I said making him shift his gaze on me.
"Enough..." I said softly. He was breathing hard, his chest raising up and down rapidly.
"We'll leave," I heard Travon say. The twin left. Griffin already took Asher out, leaving only Elijah and me.
"You have no idea how mad I am right now," he growled lowly.
"I do... But it's over now, calm down." I said softly.
He kept his eyes on me, his breathing slowly going to its normal pace. His arms circled my back tightly and he pulled me onto him.
"You're warm," I commented.
His eyes were still dark, the red lines were still on his neck and his arms. I reached to cup his face with my hands and that's when I noticed that he was stiff.
"He's not wrong though, I'm a monster... I will hurt you." Elijah spoke.
I furrowed my eyebrows.
"You can't hurt me," I reassured him.
"Yes, I can... I lose control easily when I'm angry." He sighs.
I feel like it's the right time that I revealed myself.
"Soulmates are meant to look and take care of each other. They can't hurt each other because if they do, they die." I spoke firmly.
Confusion glistened in his eyes as he hear my words.
"What?"
"You are not the only monster. I'm a monster too." I murmured.
He furrowed his eyebrows, "What do you mean?"
Still looking at him, I let my Tribrid take over. My eyes changed to gold and my scent changed.
His eyes widened in shock as he took in my new appearance. He didn't remove his arms from me but just admire me, frozen for like two minutes.
"I'm a Tribrid," I said softly as I lowered my hands down.
"Woah," he breathes out, amazed.
"That explains so much," he murmured.
His facial expression showed relief and he seemed happy.
However, his eyes darkened again.
He slowly leaned his face near my neck and I heard him inhale deeply.
"Your scent... It's so addictive," he mumbled.
I felt his breath on my skin as he talked and his lips brushed on my neck making a shiver run through my body.
"Hmm..."
I closed my eyes when he trailed his nose to my ear, leaving kisses on my jaw.
"All this time I was afraid to touch you, to be close to you in fear that one day I will lose control and hurt you... I feared that you wouldn't understand my possessiveness, I feared that you would reject me..." he spoke lowly.
I opened my eyes and pulled away so that I could look at his face.
I wrapped my arms around his neck, "It's going to take more than that for me to ever reject you."
