International break is something that you always look forward to. Playing in Spain meant that you didn't see your England team mates as often as the other girls did, well Rachael was in the same boat as you.

When the Arnold cup was announced, saying you were excited would have been a major understatement. It would be a tournament similar to the SheBelieves, it would be hosted in England and it would be perfect practice for the Euros as the teams taking part would be England, Germany, Canada and Spain.

It was the Spain game that you were looking forward to the most. It had been almost two years since you had played against some of your closest friends from Barcelona and you were ready for the challenge.

It is game day in Norwich and you are ready to take on Spain. You are filled with confidence as you make you way to breakfast.

"Keep an eye out for number 15" Ellie tells the table which catches your attention as that is your girlfriend well your now wife's number.

"You mean Y/N's girlfriend" Keira tells the team.

The younger players look at you, they know you keep your personal life private due to the spotlight that you are in. You briefly nod your head telling them that Kiera is telling the truth.

"Wait, does that mean you are coming to England too" Hempo asks which catches you off guard.

"No" you say much to the disappointment of your team mates.

"So you're going to try the long distance thing then?" Ellie continues.

You look around the table to see if anyone else is as confused as you, much to your surprise the majority of the Manchester City players seem to know what Ellie and Lauren are talking about.

"It's early, I am yet to finish my coffee so I am going to need you to give me more info" you say looking at the women who call Manchester blue.

"We heard the coaching staff talking about a new defender a few weeks ago, they mentioned Leila's name last week. They didn't know we were waiting outside the meeting room" Lucy tells you.

You cannot know for certain but you are pretty sure that the colour drains from your face after hearing what the England defender tells you. You knew that Leila's contract would be up at the end of the season but you never for once thought that she would leave Barcelona never mind Spain. Your mind begins to wonder, suddenly you remember the private phone calls and the secret meetings. Could your team mates be telling the truth? And if so why hadn't Leila told you.

It is only when you feel a hand on your shoulder, making you jump, you realise that you must have zoned out.

"I need to go, I have a meeting with Sarina" you say abruptly, knowing that the players who know you well will see right through your lie.

Just before you leave for the stadium you phone rings, seeing it is Leila you decline the call. Even after that, she texts you but you don't respond. You need to think things over and you know that right now if you were to speak to her you would most likely say things you will regret.

A few hours later you and the rest of the team arrive at Carrow Road. You drop your bags off in the locker room before heading out for the pitch inspection.

"Looks like they beat us to it" Leah tells you.

When you reach the end of the tunnel you see some the of the Spain team already on the pitch.

"It will be the only time the beat us today" you are confident going into the game especially because you knew how many fans would be in attendance.

"I like it when your cocky but less so when it is against us" you hear her voice before you see her face, when you turn around you see the woman you have missed so dearly and for a brief moment you forget about her possible secret keeping.
