Chapter 2

Jade Leywin POV

The next day I woke up feeling incredibly hungry, makes sense given that I didn't eat anything since my birth yet; instinctively I started crying, okay this is mildly embarrassing, hearing me mom picked me up to feed me and thanks to the mirror in the bedroom I witnessed for the first time my new appearance thanks to the mirror in our bedroom, I had azure blue eyes just like dad and Arthur, but my hair was neither auburn nor ashen brown instead I have chestnut brown hair as for my face well I can only describe it as cute.

After being fed, which had been absolutely embarrassing experience, and had our diapers changed, mom and dad put us to sleep, thankfully this gives me some time to work on my mana core.

While drawing the countless shards of mana scattered throughout my body was fairly easy there was one problem, my stamina, after drawing only 3/4 pieces to my solar plexus and fusing them with the larger shard I made yesterday I felt completely exhausted, no wonder it took Arthur 2 years to completely form his core, there are probably thousands of shards and I'll have to gather all of them one at a time, this will take a lot of time.

It's been roughly 8 months since my reincarnation in this world as Jade Leywin and I almost completed the formation of my mana core, the process was way faster than I had initially expected, since it took roughly 2 years for Art to form his mana core in the novel, I thought it would take me a similar amount of time, yet here I am with an almost complete mana core in less than half the time it took him.

As for why it took me so little time to form my mana core I don't know, my theory is that since I started literally in day 1 and right now I'm not even a year old so my body is currently significantly smaller compared to Art when he finished forming his core since he started when he was almost 1 and finished a little earlier than his 3rd birthday, meaning the mana particles in my body had less distance to cross in order to reach my solar plexus.

Now that I was minutes away from awakening I remembered about a big problem, I need to find a way to get as far as possible from Art, well mom and dad as well but mostly Art because my awakening will cause an explosion, or implosion, I can't be close to him.

While I have no idea how strong the reaction will be I'm sure I would end up injuring him pretty badly or even kill him if I do this now since we're sleeping in the same cradle, also just in case my explosion ends up being as big as the one Art caused in the novel I think it's best if I do this in the backyard.

I guess my best chance is when mom goes to town to buy groceries, just like in the novel thanks to Art mom goes into town every day and while she usually takes both of us with her sometimes when I was meditating she left me home thinking I was asleep, so if I pretend to be asleep tomorrow she will leave me home while bringing Art with her and I will only have to worry about dad.

*the next day*

Ok mom left the house with Art 10 minutes ago and dad already checked on me to ensure I was still sleeping, time to sneak out, climbing out of the cradle and landing on the bedsheets I'd thrown before I started crawling to thr door, peeking outside the door to make sure the coast was clear I exited the bedroom, judging from the sound dad was training in the front yard so I headed to the backyard.

Once outside and at a decent distance from the house I started meditating, in a matter of minutes the last shard of mana in my body crossed the remaining distance and fused with my mana core finally completing it.

*WHOOMPH*

Instantly a massive implosion set off, and I found myself sitting at the bottom of a crater at least 15 meters in diameter and more than 7 meters deep, boy am I glad I did this outside and not inside the house.

"JADE!!!!"

I hear dad panicked shout and soon I see him jumping in the crater I made, he stops in front of me realizing what happened and drops on his knees.

"How the hell is this possible? He's not even 1 year old" I hear him mutter while his face is plastered in utter disbelief.

Suddenly his disbelief turns into irrepressible joy as he scoops me up and starts jumping and twirling around with me in his arms.

Uh-oh this is bad, this really bad.

"Barf"

After throwing up what little content my stomach held I passed out.
