"We've arrived"

At my boyfriend's remark the carriage we were riding gently came to a halt as Jade's house came into view from the window, seconds later the coachman opened the door and he climbed down

Turning around he held his hand to help me, I grabbed it and climbed down as well and fixed the slight wrinkles in my dress with my hand, I was wearing a night blue dress that tightly wrapped my body, maybe it was a little too formal since I was technically just dining at my brother's place but there is royalty attending afterall, my boyfriend handed over a silver coin as payment and the coachman accepted it bowing down before leaving

"Are you really sure you want to do this? Because well I'm sure Jade already sensed us but I think we can still just go back and have dinner in a restaurant in Zestier" I asked him as he crossed the gate

"We've already talked about this El, I... okay it's a bit embarrassing to say it but well I want this relationship to last, I truly mean it and if that's the case sooner or later we'll have to tell your family about us and the sooner the better, I'd much rather we telling them ourselves instead of them catching wind about this through someone else" he replied as I followed after him, my heels clacking on the paved path that lead to the manor

"I hate it when you're right" I said pouting

"And I think you're really cute when you're sulking" he replied giving me a quick peck on the cheek

"Fine, I won't pout, but I'm still worried about this"

"You think your parents won't approve because I'm alacryan?" he asked

"No, no absolutely, that's not the problem, my parents are not like that, back in the day the relationship between Sapin and Elenoir wasn't idiliac either but they didn't bat an eyelid at my brothers getting engaged with elves" I quickly clarified

"Then what's the issue?"

"My brothers are the issue, they've always been overprotective towards me, I really appreciate that they care so much about me and they've always been there for me, but for them well I'm still the little, naive girl I was before the start of the war"

"I can handle it, my father started training me so I can succeed him as highlord, I'm sure I can handle them" he declared confident

"Just to be sure, you do remember who my brothers are right?" I asked skeptical

"... Yes and yes I'm honestly scared, very scared, but this is something we have to do and something I want to do in order to be with you, so let's go" he stated linking arms with me before resuming walking towards the door

We knocked on the door and one of the maids welcomed us, she seemed a bit surprised at the fact that I wasn't alone but she let it slide and quickly guided us to the dining room, everyone was already there chatting lively

"Ellie! You're finally here" mom exclaimed as she walked towards me, she was dressed formally as well

"And who's this young gentleman?" she asked confused after noticing I wasn't alone

"Valen? What are you doing here?" Art asked

"Good evening professor" Valen greeted him

"I'm not a professor anymore and you're not a student anymore either" Art replied

"Ehm, guys I want you all to meet Valen of highblood Ramseyer, my boyfriend" I introduced him
