Chapter 107

Jade Leywin POV

*Wee woo* *wee woo* *wee woo*

As soon as I stepped out of the portal the loud, screeching sound of an alarm pierced my ears, looking around I could see we were in a subterranean room of some sort, at the center of the room encased into the floor was the anvil shaped artifact we used as an anchor for our teleportation

"Who dares teleporting into my house unannounced?!" a man dressed with a night robe yelled as he barged in from the door as soon as Chul, the last one of us, stepped out of the portal

"Darrin, I'm sorry for the abrupt visit but I didn't have any other option" Arthur told him

"Professor Grey!!!" a bunch of kids roughly the same age as Ellie bursted into the room and ran up to Arthur

"What are you guys doing here?" Arthur asked confused

"Grey, I should have known that you would be the only one bold enough to just teleport here in the middle of the night, anyway the kids had been sent here by their families, after what happened at the Victoriad and with Seris's revolution their parents wanted them as far away from the spotlights as possible so they asked for my help" Darrin explained

"Professor, what happened to you after the Victoriad? Is it true that you're a dicathian?" one of the kids, I assume they were in Arthur's class, asked him

"If so why were you at Central Academy?" another one asked

"The middle of the night? I always wondered why there was so much difference in time between Alacrya and Dicathen, I know travelling through tempus warp isn't really instantaneous but it shouldn't take more than a few seconds, could it be due to the extreme distance?" a confused Caera asked me as the kids barraged Arthur with their questions

"It's due to a difference in the time zone" I told her

"A difference in what?"

"Time zone, our planet is spherical, well not perfectly spherical but close enough, Dicathen and Alacrya are roughly on the opposite sides of the planet so when one side is illuminated by the sun the other isn't, meaning that when it's day on Dicathen it's night here in Alacrya" I explained

"Wait our planet is round?" Caera questioned even more confused

"What? You thought it was flat?"

"As amusing as your little lesson is young man I don't think this is the time nor the place to hold it also would you mind explaining why you teleported into my house in the middle of the night?" Darrin asked me a little annoyed

"Of course, but maybe you should change your clothes first" Art interjected

Darrin looked down examining his attire and recognising it wasn't exactly the best attire to welcome some guests, he led us to his study and once there he ordered the kids to go back to sleep, much to their displeasure, before returning to his bedroom to change his clothes, he returned roughly five minutes later dressed elegantly albeit a little unkempt most likely due to the rush he was in

"Well, now care to give me an explanation Grey or should I call you Arthur?" Darrin inquired

"Either one is fine, now introductions, this guy here is Chul a half-asura of the Asclepius clan" Art stated pointing at Chul

"This is Sylvie, my daughter" Arthur introduced her and I could see Darrin's brow raise in surprise

"And this here is my little brother..."

"We're twins" I interrupted him

"Yes but I'm the older one so you're my little brother" he argued

"You're older by like a couple of minutes, it doesn't count"
