Chapter 52

Jade Leywin POV

"Okay are you two ready?" I asked Mai and Tess as we were all standing in front of the tempus warp that would bring us to The Wall where we would join the mages selected by Virion for our team

"Ready" they both said determined

Tess was wearing black leather armor, that provided minimal protection without hindering her movements, coupled with some pieces of metal armor like a chest plate that covered her breasts and her core with a vine-like shoulder pad, gauntlets on her forearms and greaves on her shins with a plated cuisse to protect her thighs and hips with a big belt which had her new bladed staff (which was more like an estoc than a staff) and several pouches full of seed attached (A.N. her look in chapter 170 of the comic)

Mai on the other hand was wearing little to no armor, just like Aya her fighting style was entirely reliant on speed and agility so actual armor would have been more of an hindrance than a help, she had black leather armor covering her top with thin metal vambraces protecting her forearms this was the only metal she had on excluding her daggers which where strapped on her belt at the end of her back, her legs were covered by simple black pants which offered zero protection but didn't hinder her mobility with kneehigh boots

I was wearing an outfit similar to the one I used as an adventurer so I had black thin leather armor on my top with bracers on my forearms with a pair of fingerless gloves, black pants with dark brown boots, a wide belt to which my daggers were strapped on and of course my conjuring ring and mana absorbing earrings, honestly I could have gone without any armor at all since the layer of mana I cover my body with provides better protection that pretty much any suit of armor I might wear, aside from maybe heavy armor but it would be impossible for me to fight with something like that on, I decided to wear the bare minimum of armor so I wouldn't stand out like a sore thumb in the dungeon

All of our weapons were made by me since during my many experiments with Gideon and Emily I discovered a new metal which doesn't exist on Dicathen and it's much more resistant than anything we have also since I conjured them I could carve special channels inside the weapons to make it easier to channel mana inside them

"Anything we can say or do to make you change your minds about this?" Virion asked as he was standing with Alduin, Merial, Aya, mom, dad and Ellie

"You mean aside from locking us here?" I asked

"As if there's any way to capture you" Virion declared rolling his eyes and everyone else just nodded

"You know we already made up our minds grandpa, if it was that easy to change our minds we would have given up before" Tess said

"Yes, I know I just want to keep you safe" Virion replied

"I still can't believe I agreed to this" mom told me

"Same" Merial voiced

"Okay how about we go before anyone can change their mind?" I proposed as I gestured Mai and Tess to go

"Just stay safe okay?" mom added

"Well as safe as I can be in a dungeon" I commented

With a final round of goodbyes we finally crossed the tempus warp and found ourselves in the teleportation area of The Wall

"Arriving from the Castle, princess Tessia Eralith, Mai Grephin and Jade Leywin" one of the operators announced

"So you're the reinforcement the commander talked about? My name in Drogo and I'm the captain of the Trailblazer unit" a tall man with bulging muscles told us

"We'll be in your care from now on captain" I said he looked around a little to check there was no one trying to eavesdrop on us before leaning in

"Tell me is it true that you're on the same level as the Lances?" he asked me in a hushed tone
