Jade Leywin POV

"We... we surrender" an alacryan soldier who looked like a relatively high ranking officer declared as everyone else threw their weapons to the ground and raised their hands

"Good, as I promised your lives will be spared but you'll be our prisoners" I said

"Also if any of you try to do anything... then I'll kill every single one of you" I continued keeping my tone calm and even

Seeing they started to eye each other to make sure no one tried anything massively stupid I released [King's force] and [Nightmare] but kept [Shadow drive] active, with my wounds I'm sure if I deactivate it I'll collapse and I can't look weak in front of them

"Jade, are you sure about sparing them? They were ready to kill us all" Drogo questioned me

"Yes, they might be a decent source of information, besides we don't have to lower ourselves at their level" I replied coldly

"Very well then, let's go back and report to the commander Virion" Drogo stated and started to organise the troops

"Alright you all, get in line put your hands on the shoulders of the one in front of you and keep them there" I ordered addressing the alacryans

They all obeyed, too scared to even look at me, we started marching towards base camp as soon as we finished destroying all the alacryan's tempus warps, since there were too many of us we couldn't use our tempus warp either as it would overheat

Between the ones killed by the collateral damage of the fight between me and Jagrette and those who died in battle against our soldiers the alacryans lost around 350 people while our side lost only 30 people or so

The staggering difference between the casualties was due to how the alacryan army is organised, while normally their army is a well oiled machine designed to be perfectly efficient in war, due to the high specialization of their mages if one of their units fall apart the entire machine stops functioning and with me and Jagrette wreaking havoc among their ranks they couldn't fight properly and were steamrolled by our army

We exited the boss room, I was walking in the front since I memorised the layout of the entire dungeon and can select the shortest route, as we were walking Darvus and the rest of my team started getting closer to me, already knowing what they wanted to talk about I casted a soundproofing barrier around us

"Ohi, you're not really planning on sparing them right? I mean we were trying to kill each other till half an hour ago" Darvus whispered

"No need to whisper Darvus, they can't hear us and yes I am planning to spare them" I replied

"Why? As I said we were trying to kill each other just half an hour ago!"

"Because they're not a threat anymore, I don't have any qualms in killing hostile enemy soldiers but I won't kill a bunch of people that surrendered and it's not a threat anymore, that's a line I don't want to cross"

"Are you sure about this? I mean they're here to conquer us"

"It's not their fault Darvus, alacryans aren't inherently evil you know, sure there are plenty of them who are rotten to the core but that's true for dicathians as well, they've been under the rule of a psychotic, mad, megalomaniac for centuries if not millennia, due to Agrona's propaganda most of them think of us as a bunch of savages without any proper civilisation"

"That's all the more reason to kill them, they don't even see us as people!"

"Darvus, if you were born during the human-elf war, would you have fought against the elves? The human king at the time was spreading propaganda in which the elves were depicted as an inferior race, also many of those against the war were branded traitors and killed or imprisoned and this was a human, they are ruled by an asura imagine what Agrona would do to them if they tried to voice their disagreement"
