Chapter 63

Mai Grephin POV

He did it

He really did it, I watched as Jade plunged his dagger into Uto's chest breaking his core and the gargantuan pressure that was keeping us glued in place disappeared

Relief washed over me as I saw him knock Uto out of consciousness, relief that immediately turned into horror as I saw him collapse, vomiting blood

"JADE!!!" I ran up to him and found him convulsing in a pool of his own blood with deep gashes on his arms, legs and torso

"JADE!!!!" mother dropped on her knees and started chanting, soon a soothing green light enveloped Jade's body, his convulsions stopped but he was still bleeding, it wasn't enough, no emitter would be able to heal this amount of damage alone

"Where are the other emitters?" I asked no one in particular

"Dead, I just found their bodies" father arrived

"We need to bring him to the Castle" I declared as I reached out for Jade's left hand, taking his dimensional ring I slid it on one of my fingers and imbued mana in it

Thank god it works, I know Jade modified his ring so it could only be accessed by registered mana signatures, thankfully he registered mine, I retrieved his personal tempus warp from the dimensional ring and started setting it up, for security reasons the tempus warps issued to the units on the field could only be linked to the ones at The Wall and not to any major city so his personal warp was our only option

"DURDEN!!" I heard father call for Durden

Durden understood and immediately conjured an earthen stretcher, slowly and carefully, he, father, Darvus and Adam moved Jade's body on the stretcher while mother kept her spell active

I finished programming the tempus warp and a pearly oval shaped portal flared to life in front of me

"THE PORTAL'S READY" I yelled before jumping into the portal

I materialised in the Castle's teleportation room and saw the guards there panicking

"Unauthorized teleportation!"

"Prepare to fight!"

"Wait, it's general Leywin's personal tempus warp!"

"WE NEED EMITTERS NOW!!!" I yelled at them and moved out of the way

A second later father and Durden arrived carrying Jade on the stretcher, mother also arrived a split second after them and immediately rushed to Jade's side casting her healing spell once again

Upon seeing Jade's condition the captain of the Castle's guard paled

"YOU! GO CALL ALL THE EMITTERS IN THE CASTLE!" he turned around and barked an order addressing the guard that was closest to the doors, the guard flinched but quickly recomposed himself and ran off at full speed

"You go notify commander Virion and Lance Aya" he ordered another guard

5 agonizingly long minutes later a team of emitters bursted into the teleportation room and started casting their spells while transporting him towards the medical wing

We followed them and stopped outside of the healing room, a special room furnished with artifacts designed to help the emitters in their work

I sat down on the benches placed on the sides of the hallway hugging my knees and waited, waited and prayed for good news

"What happened?!" commander Virion asked as he arrived running with mom following behind

I just pressed my forehead on my knees hiding my face as father narrated everything that happened in the dungeon, from the fight against the boss, to how Jade suddenly ran off after the fight was over, how we followed him and found the base camp empty, the sudden appearance of the retainer and the fight that followed
