Jade Leywin POV

I followed Arthur and the others inside the portal created by the compass, immediately something felt wrong, Arthur described the transition as seamless, much smoother than the tempus warps created by the Vritra and even better than the portal Sylvia had made for him, this time though it was a jarring sensation, much worse than the nauseating feeling the old teleportation gates gave you

I suddenly felt like I had been transported into a lagging videogame, I tried to raise my right arm but my body refused to listen to my brain, suddenly I found my arm raised only it didn't really move it just transitioned from being alongside my torso to being held in front of me skipping the movement

"What..."

"Is..."

"Happening...?"

I tried to speak and just like with my movements, my mouth refused to move for several seconds before my voice just resounded out of nowhere

Struggling to turn my head around I saw Arthur crouched over Sylvie, her body was shaking and shivering uncontrollably while emitting an amethyst aura intermittently, whenever that aura enveloped us we blocked, Arthur was trying to contain it using his own aether

He kept struggling for what felt like hours but were most likely minutes until Sylvie's form shimmered and she was clad in Arthur's relic armor, the armor vibrated with power as it contained the spontaneous burst of aether released by Sylvie

"What's happening?" I asked again

"I'm not sure, the Relictombs are reacting to Sylvie's power making her aether abilities go out of control but it's strange, Sylvie's innate affinity for aether is vivum but for some reason she's using an aevum technique" Arthur explained confused

"Well you focus on containing that spell and on finding out what's happening to her, we'll focus on crossing this place and about that, Caera any ideas?" I said looking around

We were inside a massive forest, actually the term massive didn't really convey the sheer size of this place, the biggest tree of the Elshire forest would look like a bonsai compared to the trees in this place, the branch we were all standing on was so thick that it almost looked flat only slightly curving downwards at the very end, if not for the fact that I could sense it's true size with my seismic sense I would have thought we were standing on a rough wooden floor,

Despite its size the forest was completely silent, no birds, no insects, no rustling of leaves, there was no sound in this place, the only noises I could hear were the ones we made

"I'm not sure, normally we should look for the portal leading to the next zone although sometimes you have to clear some sort of puzzle first, with Grey though it's an entirely different thing, all the ascents I did with him were completely different from any other I did or heard about" Caera stated

"Well no use standing here, let's look for that portal after we assess where we are" I said

"We seem to be in a forest" Regis commented after jumping out of Art's body

"Oh thank you Sherlock, I didn't notice that" I told him

"You know, I'm not sure if I should feel relieved that contrary to your brother you have a sense of humour or be pissed at the sarcastic remark" Regis muttered

"Instead of straining the one brain cell you have trying to figure that out give me a hand in searching that portal" Yozora remarked coming out of my shadow

"Does your family have a thing for talking wolves?" Caera asked me

"Guys, less chit-chatting more searching, I don't know how long I can hold this, Jade can you sense anything? You're the one with the sharpest senses here" Arthur spoke up, strain clear in his voice
