Clay POV.

The moment that I pulled the car to a stop in front of the bar, directly in front of the door in fact, I hurried out. I was sweating, despite the fact that I had been sitting in a car and so wasn’t using too much energy. I really hoped that George was okay, and not too drunk, especially since he said that he wasn’t one to drink alcohol.

When I was about to head inside I took a deep breath, trying to calm down with my frazzled state before finding the brunette. Just as I was about to head into the bar I heard a voice which I am pretty sure belonged to George’s boss. “Well George, I hope that things get better for you soon.” The voice said.

“Actually I’m not job hunting.” George responded, and my brows furrowed in confusion, wondering what he was talking about. I mean, I know that he hadn’t been looking for jobs in the first few weeks, but I didn’t think much of it, especially since we’d gone away to visit his family and he’d had his house broken into. There was just too much else to focus on.

“Really?” The man who had spoken first continued, sounding curious and somewhat confused at the brunette’s answer. “Why not?”
“Well cause I’m moving to Florida with Clay.” George responded, making me pause.

He was seriously wanting to move to Florida with me? I felt a grin growing on my face at the thought. How long had he known this? Why had he not told me that he was wanting to come earlier? Was he just saying this because he was drunk? I had so many questions, but they weren’t as important as the excitement that flowed through me at the thought of him in the US.

I mean, I have nothing against the UK, but back in Florida I’d be able to take him to all sorts of amazing places, show him all the sights, and I could introduce him to my family and friends. The only fear was of my fans, and my haters, in the US. Since they were often a lot more extreme than other countries, and I wasn’t sure I was ready for that.

Before I could spend too long focusing on my plans of him moving to Florida, I knew that I should take him home. I took another deep breath before walking into the bar, immediately seeing George tiredly leaning on the counter as he sipped water. Standing beside him was another man who Wilbur was subtly giving the evils.

My hand moved to rest on George’s arm, being slow and gentle so as to not freak him out. He looked up at me and smiled dopily which caused me to smile again. “Hey Georgie,” I greeted softly, “are you ready to go home?”

“Of course he is.” Wilbur answered. “He seems tired, and he’s done a lot of talking  and drinkingtoday which probably exhausted him more.” The bartender glanced over at his boss who wasn’t saying anything.
“Yeah, he usually gets exhausted.” I agreed. “Thanks for looking after him, Will.”

As I spoke I wrapped my arm around the brunette’s waist, helping him up and smiling lovingly at the way he snuggled into me. Wilbur hurriedly moved around the side of the counter. “I’ll help you with the door.” He offered, and while the other man who had been talking to George went to say something, Wilbur added on, “I’ll just be a moment, and the bar is quite quiet.”

He hurried over to us and held the door open so I could escort the stumbling brunette in my arms out. I had expected Wilbur to turn back then, but he continued walking over to my car to open the passenger door for me as well. As the bar door shut he finally spoke. “Honestly never expected that George would be chatty when he was drunk.” He said with a chuckle.

“Seriously? What was he like?” I asked, allowing myself to smile at the situation as the brunette attempted to return back into the bar where it is much warmer.
“Well he started by being quite quiet and just drank a lot, really, really fast.” Wilbur explained. “I was honestly surprised. There is probably more alcohol than blood in his tiny little body.”

I allowed myself to laugh as he whined lowly beside me and the other brunette continued. “Then Schlatt came in and I expected George to be mad at him, since Schlatt obviously fired him. But the two of them started chatting about what happened with George. Then you showed up and here we are.”

As we continued to the car George stumbled, almost falling forwards onto the concrete but I scooped him up in my arms before he could hit the ground. “Careful sweetheart.” I cooed, watching him whine at the name. “I don’t want you to get hurt.”
“I’m fine.” He tried to convince me. “Lemme go Clay.”

“No can do sorry.” I responded as I held him bridal style, listening to his slightly jumbled complaints. “I don’t want you to fall over, and I also just love carrying you in general.” Wilbur faked a gag as he held open the passenger door and I rolled my eyes before setting the brunette down.

After putting his seatbelt on, Wilbur shut the door for me and both of us allowed ourselves to chuckle. “He is so cute.” I commented lovingly, watching as he looked at us tiredly through the window. “I love him so much.”

“I didn’t know that he had agreed to move to Florida with you.” Wilbur said. “It kinda sucks that he told Schlatt before he told me.”
“He hasn’t told me yet.” I admitted. “Last I heard he was still thinking about it. Who knows how long he’s known.”

He grinned at my words which honestly surprised me, after all I expected he’d be upset George would be moving. “Well I guess it is nice to know that he will be going somewhere with someone that loves him… but speaking of going somewhere… you should probably get him back to the hotel and give him some pills to help his impending hangover.”

“I will.” I responded as I began walking around the side of the car to the driver's seat. “Oh, and thanks for not telling George about what’s going on with Monica.”
“You are welcome. But remember, when this Monica shit blows over, George is only allowed to move if I can get free trips over to visit.”

“Don’t worry, you will.” I reassured him. “But you should probably get back inside before your boss gets pissed at you.”
“Yeah, see you Clay.” Wilbur finished before walking off.

For anyone wondering why Clay is lying/keeping his meet-up with Monica a secret from George, it's simple:

Both he and George hate Monica after what she's done, but Clay's love for George outweighs his hate for Monica.
Since George is obviously torn apart by all the threats and hate he's getting online since he was kind of forced into this position by both Clay and Monica, Clay wants to make it up to him.
Clay knows that George (even when he's upset) wouldn't want Clay to spend time with Monica for his benefit.
