(Present)

It was a sunny day in B City.

Taehyung sat in his office and looked out the window.

Chaeyoung's pictures were all over his desk and office.

He was not afraid of being seen; he was no longer afraid of people knowing what he had done.

PA Jin knocked on the door and walked in. Taehyung turned to look at his assistant.

"This is a letter from the chairman and the board of directors saying that Kim Enterprise plagiarized their jewelry design," PA Jin said and placed the lawyer's letter on the table.

Ever since the mistress divorced the chairman six years ago, the chairman had been targeting Taehyung. PA Jin did not understand what he was thinking. Was it really necessary to target his own son?

"Was it plagiarized?" Taehyung asked casually as he tore up the lawyer's letter.

"There was a traitor in the design department," PA Jin admitted. "I have dealt with him."

"All this just to settle with me, he really would resort to anything," Taehyung laughed scornfully. Taehyung leaned back in his chair and asked PA Jin to leave. "Let him sue me."

PA Jin opened his mouth to say something but held back.

After the young mistress' accident, the CEO had become like this. No matter what the chairman did, he ignored all his actions as if he did not care about his own life anymore.

"CEO, there is one more thing. Seulgi is back."

PA Jin saw the change in the CEO's expression. He sat up straight and looked at PA Jin.

"She has the guts to come back?" Taehyung asked furiously, voice filled with hatred.

He was certain that Seulgi had misled Chaeyoung, and that was why she had refused to forgive him and jumped into the sea.

He had been looking for that woman. He did not expect that she would suddenly appear.

"She is the chief designer of Kim International. The chairman handpicked her himself," PA Jin said quietly. He was afraid of the CEO's reaction as he knew that he could go crazy at any time.

For the past few years, he realized that if it had anything to do with the young mistress, the further he was from the CEO, the safer he would be.

After Taehyung heard him, he laughed loudly.

The Kim family was really interesting.

In the past, his grandmother had used Seulgi to attack him and Chaeyoung, and now his father was using Seulgi to deal with him.

As Chaeyoung had said: the Kim family was really disgusting.

Taehyung looked down at the photograph of Chaeyoung on the table. Taehyung still did not know what she had been looking at then, but it was clear that the woman in the photograph was still peaceful during that time.

Everything he had done was to protect the country and its people, but he had risked his own life just to achieve it.

After the mission, the commander had come to him personally and told him that the country still needed him. He told him that if he was willing to return, he would be promoted three levels up from special squadron leader to special brigade commander.

However, he had already given up. The commander had rebuked him continuously and it had been Wooshik who had persuaded him to leave.

Taehyung's reply had been simple: He risked everything to protect the people of Korea but he could not even protect his own loved ones. So why should he continue protecting the people?
