Chapter 521: Roundabout Flight

The helicopter maintained a calm and level flight. Chaeyoung wrangled her way into the cockpit and got into the copilot's seat.

"Why are you so good at everything?" Chaeyoung asked, impressed with Jennie's many skills.

"To survive," Jennie looked at Chaeyoung and replied with a smile, "I hate to break it to you but it's too late for you to become like me now. Speaking of which, I thought you would part ways with your man."

Chaeyoung was rather embarrassed when Jennie said her secret out loud. She had to admit, she did want to be like her. If she was as competent as Jennie, Taehyung would definitely keep her by his side and not chase her away like he was doing now.

Chaeyoung cupped her chin sulkily as she looked at the night sky and said, "I really envy you."

Jennie laughed hysterically. It was her first time hearing that someone envied her job as a killer. They simply did not reveal their hardships and ordeals to the public eyes, so nobody knew how tough it really was.

"If I let you go now, can you promise me?" Chaeyoung turned her gaze to Jennie suddenly.

"Don't be silly, your man will kill me." Jennie rejected her idea immediately. "And I think Taehyung is right this time. The second, third and fourth in ranking are there. If their meeting escalates to death fight, you will become his liability in the end."

"What if we hide in the dark?" Chaeyoung began again, "With your skills, hiding without anyone knowing is a piece of cake, right?"

Jennie opened her mouth to protest, but she ended up laughing. "A bunch of sly foxes."

"Think about it, if Lee Chenghao really decides to fight to the death with Taehyung, we can lend a hand if he is in trouble. Oh, it's you—" Chaeyoung said excitedly as if she had just thought of something.

Jennie remained quiet this time. She could almost see the gears turning in Chaeyoung's mind.

"Last time when Taehyung confronted Mark, it was at sea. It won't end badly if we had a helicopter standby as backup. This time, if it's at sea again, I think it is feasible," Chaeyoung suggested and blinked innocently at Jennie.

"Your guy will kill me," Jennie protested again.

"Don't you have me?" Chaeyoung made a counteroffer. "If you help me, I promise you Brother Park will be off your back from now on."

Jennie's eyes darted around as she pondered. "No can do, you have to make sure that hypocrite doesn't pursue me once and for all."

"Okay, deal!" Chaeyoung shrieked excitedly and raised her hand for a high five.

Jennie deviated her flight path but shot a skeptical glare at the delighted Chaeyoung. "Are you telling me that the pathetic and heartbreaking scene earlier was an act exclusively for your man?"

"You don't know Taehyung that well, he is very cynical and crafty."

"I know it very clearly."

Chaeyoung blinked awkwardly.

Jennie grabbed a gun from her waistband and passed it to Chaeyoung. "Just in case."

Chaeyoung lowered her gaze to the gun in her hands and stared at it solemnly. The last time she had held a gun was when she shot and killedMark.

She had refused to hold a gun ever since.

"But you have to promise me: do not leave my line of sight and do not expose yourself," Jennie commanded in a serious voice.
