Chapter 141: My Mommy's a Painter
After PA Kim heard that request, he looked down. His eyes had an unnamed emotion in them. It felt like he was smiling, but inside, he felt something he could not explain.
While Taehyung drove back to Kim Mansion, Chaeyoung observed Sichen who had her head down. The little girl did not speak, she just kept tugging at own clothes.
Chaeyoung looked at Taehyung. "What is Brother Cha up to?"
"There's a court case at A City, so he went there," Taehyung answered quietly. He then looked at Sichen from the rearview mirror.
Chaeyoung's gaze returned to Sichen. "Sichen, will you speak to me?"
"I hate you," Sichen said.
"Sichen," Taehyung groaned with a hint of warning.
Sichen raised her head and pursed her little mouth. Her face was full of hate for Chaeyoung.
Chaeyoung was not angry. She gazed down at her instead and asked gently, "You hate me because you think that your mommy won't come back because of me?"
"Because daddy likes you, that's why he doesn't want mommy." Sichen clenched her fists and spoke like she was about to cry.
Chaeyoung felt the mood in the car become weird, especially the cold aura emanating from Taehyung.
The thing between her and Eunwoo had always been a knot in Taehyung's heart, although in reality there was nothing between Eunwoo and her.
"Where's your mommy then?" Chaeyoung asked again.
"My mommy's a painter, an incredible painter," Sichen declared, proudly lifting her head. Even if her mommy never came home, even though her mommy did not like her, she still felt proud of her mommy.
"Painter?" Chaeyoung was startled. She did know a painter who was almost her age. Moreover, that painter looked quite similar to her.
Thinking about it, the knot in Chaeyoung's heart tightened again.
'Eunwoo, what's the meaning of this?'
"That's right, my mommy's beautiful. She's even a great painter," Sichen continued proudly.
Chaeyoung watched and felt really sorry for her. All a young child like this wanted was probably some attention from her mother.
Chaeyoung reached out to stroke her head, but the little girl quickly dodged.
Chaeyoung was not angry. She watched the small body retreat to a corner. Compared to Soyi and Siwoon, this child was far more pitiful.
After Taehyung brought them back to Kim Mansion, Taehyung did not arrange for the Cha Family's servants to take Sichen but brought her into his home instead.
Soyi was happy when she saw her mommy and daddy coming back together, but when she saw Sichen, her face turned glum. She did not like that little girl who was hostile to her.
Siwoon also had his guard up around Sichen, but did not display it as obviously as Soyi.
"Dinner is ready. Go wash your hands and eat up," Wonhae said from the living room. "Sichen, come to grandma."
"I want Grandma to carry me," little Soyi hurriedly said.
"Soyi," Chaeyoung admonished as she reached out for Soyi and carried her. "Grandma took care of you the entire day already. Also, little Sichen is still young. Grandma needs to take care of little Sichen."
