Chapter 191: Being Brainy is an Advantage

Chaeyoung went into the hotel room after waving goodbye to Jimin who had sent her back. Her phone rang the moment she stepped into her hotel room. It was Taehyung.

"Check out the news, Chaeyoung," said Taehyung in an unfriendly tone.

Feeling confused, Chaeyoung paused for a second before turning her notebook on and tutted when she saw the headline. "How nice is that, Mr. Kim? Weren't you once a player of the game?"

Chaeyoung could guess what it was without having to read the content.

"I am warning you, Chaeyoung. Stay away from Jimin," said Taehyung angrily.

"Are you jealous?" Chaeyoung closed her notebook and sat down at the side of her bed.

"Don't be stupid, I am being serious," said Taehyung again. "Jimin is more than what you see."

Chaeyoung did not argue. She knew Taehyung would never insult someone personally, not to mention insult someone merely out of jealousy.

"Speaking of which, I wanted to ask you something, Taehyung. Is Bai Enterprise the core of the Bai family's business?" Chaeyoung asked suddenly.

"Bai Enterprise is only a cover where the Bai family launder their money. Their main business is their underground business," said Taehyung.

"I knew it. Are you planning to take action against the Bai family?" Chaeyoung jeered.

"Huh, have you learned to joke?" Taehyung scoffed. He didn't appear mad. In fact, he actually felt proud of his woman who had finally learned.

"If you really want to know who the successor is, maybe you should ask..." Chaeyoung faltered. Finding it difficult to call that woman her mother, she did not continue and lowered her gaze. "Ask Bai Ying, I am sure she knows."

"There are too many watching Bai Ying. Asking her would be the same as telling the Bai family that Kim Taehyung is making his move." Taehyung sneered. "What kind of suggestion is that?"

"Do you know, Taehyung, you would be dead if it weren't for your good looks," said Chaeyoung smilingly.

"It is because I am smart, Chaeyoung. You think I rely on my face like you do with your not-so-pretty face?" A beeping sound came from the other end of the line before Taehyung could finish—Chaeyoung had hung up the call. Taehyung looked at his phone in shock.

Chaeyoung stared at her phone then tossed it onto her bed. Listening to Taehyung talk made her feel like getting a needle and stitching his lips together.

She stood up and went to the bathroom, looking at herself in the mirror. Her skin was white as snow and her lips red as blood, how was a face like that ugly?

Taehyung had very bad taste and it was annoying.

Chaeyoung had received a few messages from Taehyung when she got out from the bathroom.

[It's a bad habit to hang up calls like that, Chaeyoung.]

[It's a bad habit too to not let someone tell the truth, Chaeyoung.]

[And so what for saying that you have a not-so-pretty face? I would be worried if you have a face like a movie star.]

[Last thing, don't even think about going to the Bai family's fortress.]

Chaeyoung didn't know what to say. The third message was actually quite sweet, but the last message made her feel uncertain. How did he know what she was thinking?
