Chapter 281: Who Told You He Isn't Married?
It was a mere ten seconds, not a long moment but not a short one either.
Taehyung halted in the middle, his eyes fixed on the blurry silhouette.
"Is it In-Sung?" Taehyung tilted his head up and questioned.
Just hearing that name made Chaeyoung tense up unconsciously.
However, Wooshik shook his head. "It doesn't feel like him. When I saw In-Sung six years back, he was very skinny," he said while peering at Chaeyoung, who lowered her gaze as if trying to avoid any suspicion from him.
Upon hearing the reply, Chaeyoung naturally breathed a sigh of relief.
Although her sigh was nearly inaudible, those who were present were from the special forces and no lies could get past them.
"This person left after confirming your life wasn't in danger; clearly he doesn't want you dead. Whoever he is, I don't think he's an enemy," Wooshik spoke up again.
"Could it be someone who wanted revenge on the Bai family? That's why he manipulated Taehyung." Eunwoo proposed an idea.
"That's not really possible. If he could manipulate Taehyung, then taking down the Bai Family wouldn't be a problem for him." It took less than a minute for Wooshik to shoot down his assumption.
"So are you saying that Taehyung isn't stronger than that guy?" Minseok who was quiet the whole time finally spoke up.
Yet that one question made Wooshik wish that choking him to death was an acceptable action.
With his head lifted and a cold stare thrown at Minseok, Taehyung uttered, "Make some time to visit the cemetery."
It was time for him to give an explanation to his brothers.
Eunwoo's gaze dropped slightly, his mouth sewn shut.
Everything that they owed their comrades were eventually sent back, but their brothers, they would never return anymore.
Chaeyoung held Taehyung's hand in hers, knowing what kind of emotions rippled through him.
Decades of vengeance were finally, thoroughly paid back.
Before returning the phone to Wooshik, Taehyung made Chaeyoung copy the video.
Eunwoo's stare fixated on Chaeyoung for a few moments, but he quickly tore his gaze away.
Awkwardness floated in the atmosphere.
"About Mistress Bai—" Seemingly remembering something, Eunwoo broke the uncomfortable silence.
Chaeyoung's eyes were glued to the ground again. Her mother had never visited B City again since they parted last time, said that she wanted to live in the fishing village her father mentioned in the past. She disallowed anyone to follow her, even her daughter was forbidden to do so.
Perhaps in Mother's world, Father was long gone so she wanted to preserve and live in the place Father once told her.
"I still need to thank you. If it weren't for you, my mother wouldn't have escaped from this easily," Chaeyoung said genuinely.
Wooshik shrugged the gratitude away and commented nonchalantly, "It's all thanks to Taehyung, I can't take the credit."
Chaeyoung darted her eyes towards said man, only to see his face clouded by something similar to displeasure.
He had just pulled a long face! This Taehyung was still the same Taehyung as before.
"If there's nothing else then all of you can get lost." Taehyung hated when there was an audience that would take up all his time with Chaeyoung.
