Chapter 101: Taehyung, Kneeling? VIII

The car went all the way to the foot of the hill but had to stop there. The villagers told them to follow the road that led to the village, and that the person they were looking for was an eccentric, grumpy old man. Many came to see him but many had to leave untreated.

"It's rumored that Master Jang refused to treat certain patients because he could tell by just looking at them that they were beyond cure. In other words, the ones who left untreated were all beyond cure. Good luck."

Taehyung's face turned pale at what the villagers said and quickly followed the road with Soyi in his arms.

Chaeyoung thanked the villagers and followed Taehyung together with their son.

Soyi rested her head on Taehyung's shoulder and looked at her mother and brother following behind. "Mommy, is Soyi beyond cure too?"

"Shush, don't say things like that," said Chaeyoung quickly after sensing her daughter's disappointment.

It was a rather steep hill and Siwoon was already exhausted after one third of their journey. Being the proud child he was, Siwoon did not say a word until Taehyung noticed and carried him too.

Chaeyoung watched Taehyung climbing the hill without getting winded and had to admit that his reputation for being the best soldier in their camp was well-deserved.

"You okay?" Taehyung asked, one child in each arm as he looked at Chaeyoung panting disdainfully.

Why was it so hard to expect something nice from this man?

"Just be single forever, Taehyung. I am serious," gasped Chaeyoung who then took a deep breath and resumed climbing.

"Chaeyoung." Taehyung's face turned sullen.

"Walk faster, Mr. Kim. We want to leave before it gets dark, don't we?" Chaeyoung said with a fake smile on her face, which made Taehyung's face even gloomier.

Siwoon looked the old meatball smilingly while teasing his little sister. He loved seeing the old meatball become speechless because of his mommy.

Chaeyoung was exhausted when the group finally reached the village and Taehyung looked at her scornfully for the second time. Chaeyoung rolled her eyes at him, and began to look around to ask about Master Jang. She couldn't expect Taehyung to do that because she knew that he would rather die.

Thinking of it, Chaeyoung stopped walking and looked at the man who had put down his son and carried only his daughter in his arms. "Taehyung, ask someone where Master Jang stays."

"Why can't you ask?" Taehyung stared at Chaeyoung with obvious reluctance.

"It's for your daughter, are you so reluctant to do even this one small thing for her?" Chaeyoung asked as she stood in front of Taehyung, staring at him.

Taehyung found himself speechless when he tried to argue with Chaeyoung. All he could do was stare at Chaeyoung—the woman who made him do things on purpose.

Siwoon stood beside his mother and looked at Taehyung smilingly.

Taehyung was so used to having PA Kim for almost everything, especially when it came to interactions with people. In other words, Taehyung was as an extremely antisocial person, and Chaeyoung knew that very well.

She knew everything about Taehyung, so why shouldn't she use that to her advantage?

"Enough is enough, Chaeyoung," Taehyung warned, getting pissed off at Chaeyoung as she stared at him with a fake smile on her face.
