Chapter 301: A Crisis During Their Meal
"You're still going to work?" Jisoo gasped in surprise.
"What do you mean by that? I didn't skip work when Soyi and Siwoon were little. Now that they're growing up, I have to stop working because of them?" Chaeyoung rolled her eyes and continued, "Speaking of which, Soyi and Siwoon are all grown up. When are you going to get married? Girl, you're almost 30."
"Get lost. The reason you're meeting me today is to annoy me, isn't it?" Jisoo scolded.
"Just give birth to a wife for my Siwoon. Look at how obedient Siwoon is —a perfect gentleman." Pride shone on Chaeyoung's face when she talked about her son.
"Do you always call Siwoon that?" Jisoo questioned curiously.
"Oh, he had a nickname: Wonie. However, once he learned to talk he also learned his father's prideful attitude. No matter what we said, he still refused to go by that nickname. He would cry every time we called him Wonie, so from then on we only called him by his name instead," Chaeyoung said sadly. The nickname she gave him had only survived a few days.
Jisoo burst into laughter; he really was Taehyung's son.
Their food was quickly served and soon the table was covered by dishes. Chaeyoung glanced down at the table and felt sorry for her stomach. How long did she have to eat?
Jisoo picked up her chopsticks and began eating. "The problems with my job can wait. I've been busy for so long, I'm even considering giving myself a rest instead."
"That's fine. You've bought yourself a house anyway, there's no rush," Chaeyoung said. Just as she wanted to say something else, she saw a few people walking in. "Hey, look—"
Jisoo turned her head curiously and saw a few ladies entering the restaurant. However, the spotlight was not on them but on Mei Chaofeng who was with them. Mei Yashi obviously saw Jisoo and her smile was a bit awkward.
A sneer formed on Jisoo's lips. "What a small world it is."
Chaeyoung ducked her head and ate when Mei Yashi and her friends sat down nearby. They were probably having dinner after work.
"Yashi, what are you looking at?" An acquaintance asked as she noticed Mei Yashi constantly looking back.
"That person is Senior's girlfriend." Mei Yashi's tone was laced with bitterness and it was quite clear that she was still not over PA Kim.
Mei Yashi's friend raised her head and turned to them. When she saw Jisoo's face, she scoffed. "She's not much."
Chaeyoung swallowed and hoped Jisoo did not hear.
Jisoo was the campus belle during their time. It was true that a woman was the most terrifying when she was envious but how was it that she was labeled as not much?
"That's enough, don't say anything anymore," Mei Yashi said with a sigh.
"Why can't I say anything? How many years have you liked your senior? Look at that woman, one glance and it's obvious she's just a pretty face. Your senior is young, successful, and rich, who knows if she—"
"Who are you talking about?" Jisoo slammed her chopsticks on the table and whipped around to glare at them.
Chaeyoung clicked her tongue but did not stand up. Jisoo hated it the most when someone called her that. Jisoo's voice was loud and though there were not many people having their meals there, the ones nearby were stunned. The few female teachers were not excluded.
