Chapter 481: You Are the First One, You Should Feel Honored
When the elevator reached the first floor, Jennie sprinted out dramatically. She held the door and exclaimed in a sarcastic voice, "Mr. Kim, you'd better be careful. Mrs. Kim saw you pulling me into the elevator just now, tut-tut."
"Get lost—" Crossing his arms, Taehyung growled like a predator.
Jennie let go of her hand and watched the elevator door shut. What did Chaeyoung see in that arrogant and temperamental person?
Taehyung went upstairs again. On his way to Chaeyoung's office, several employees were whispering and looking at him as if expecting mayhem to ensue, but he gave them the cold shoulder. Taehyung pushed the office door open and entered. Chaeyoung kept her gaze on the documents and did not react to his arrival.
He closed the door and asked, "Did anything strange happen today?"
"Yes, as a matter of fact. I witnessed the father of my children pulling a woman into the elevator in a very romantic way," Chaeyoung scoffed in a jealous voice. She raised her gaze, cupping her chin in her hand and glaring the man who was slowly closing in on her.
Taehyung walked up to the desk, put both hands on the table and bent over. He was only inches away from her as he said teasingly, "Are you jealous?"
Chaeyoung leaned back in her chair, keeping her distance from the man with her arms crossed.
"Taehyung, you owe me an explanation. Who is she?" Chaeyoung interrogated in a cold and tense tone. She could have a calm conversation with him on all topics except when it involved women.
Taehyung was amused and raised his eyebrows at the woman who was obviously enraged. "Jennie."
"I know what her name is," Chaeyoung snapped bitterly.
"She is one of the top five hitmen in the world," Taehyung said simply. He stood and watched as the blood drained from Chaeyoung's face.
Chaeyoung rubbed her neck unconsciously. She felt that the whole thing had taken a wild turn to horror, considering the fact that an elite hitman was by her side.
"Is she here to kill me?" Chaeyoung asked in a frightened tone, getting to her feet.
"She won't dare to even if I give her a head start," Taehyung sneered. He advanced slowly toward Chaeyoung, grabbed her by her waist and wrapped her in his embrace. He asked gently, "So tell me, has anything strange happened today?"
"I heard about a woman frequenting your office last year, does that count?" Chaeyoung asked in a threatening voice.
Taehyung narrowed his eyes upon the remark, lowering his head to nip her lips and said, "No."
Chaeyoung pondered and replied, "Then no, nothing unusual today."
Taehyung decided not to give his wife the benefit of the doubt as her lacking intelligence might miss seeing or sensing something dangerous.
Anyhow, he was reassured of her safety since she had him at home and Jennie at the office.
He was curious as to who targeted Chaeyoung.
"What are you doing here?" Chaeyoung raised her gaze and met his eyes. It was only 4.30 pm, still early by office standards.
Taehyung pressed another kiss to her cheek then let her go. Still the same old bad boy behind closed doors.
"I came over to give you a ride home. Where are the roses I gave you this morning?" Taehyung scanned the room but failed to find the bouquet in her office. He pursed his lips in disappointment.
