Chapter 151: The Sinking Feeling
Taehyung stood by the door and looked at Jungkook disdainfully. Taehyung was doing it reluctantly and he never would have done it if Jungkook wasn't his brother-in-law.
Chaeyoung brought the two kids to the resort while Taehyung sent Jungkook to the airport. It was peak hour and they were stuck in a jam on their way to the airport.
Taehyung maintained a blank face, probably because the person in the passenger seat was not worth his facial expressions.
"You had been filial and hid your real ability to not climb over Kim Enterprise and make them embarrassed, but they obviously don't appreciate it," said Jungkook with a serious face. "I am a total outsider to your family affairs to be honest, but I won't allow anyone from the Kim family to hurt my sister if you get back with Chaeyoung."
Taehyung's emotionless face finally had an expression. He gripped the steering wheel as he waited for the green light and said, "I won't let them have things their way."
"Just contact me if you ever need my help," Jungkook nodded and said.
Taehyung glanced at Jungkook and accepted his offer quietly.
The two kids were playing at the resort. Chaeyoung checked out the renovation progress and updated Jimin on the status before she joined her children at the courtyard.
Soyi's health didn't allow her to run too often, but she had always been an active kid. Siwoon often had to follow his sister around and was telling his little sister to stop running when Chaeyoung got to the courtyard.
Chaeyoung didn't get herself involved and continued to talk to her mother-in-law on the phone.
"I took them with me to the resort, we will be okay," Chaeyoung smiled and said, sitting down on a bench as she watched her daughter acting cute with her brother.
"That kid Taehyung went out early in the morning and woke Auntie Park up to make dishes that you like. Is he really okay?" Wonhae chuckled.
Chaeyoung rested one hand on the table and decided to let her mother-in-law know what happened in the hotel earlier. "Kim Tianmu and Aunt Kim came to look for Taehyung today. I think Taehyung knew, mom."
But the person on the other line didn't seem to be surprised and remained silent.
"And the relationship between Kim Tianmu and Aunt Kim," Chaeyoung continued even more carefully.
This time, the person on the other end remain silent for even longer.
Chaeyoung sat there quietly and waited for Wonhae to say something. She would listen to the story if Wonhae decided to tell her, otherwise she would just keep quiet and pretended to have never brought this up before.
"Come over tonight, I will ask Auntie Park to cook dishes that you like. Also, Auntie Mao has something that she wants to tell you," said Wonhae softly, and her mood was obviously not as good as before.
Chaeyoung responded and wore a long face even after the call ended.
Meanwhile, Taehyung headed to his company after sending Jungkook to the airport and told PA Kim to go to his office. He couldn't drag things any longer, be it for the Bai family or the Kim family.
He had to visit the Bai family and settle things before Kim Tianmu exposed the identity of Chaeyoung, because he couldn't tell when that mad man would actually do so.
PA Kim listened to Taehyung arranging his work for the next one month and had a sinking feeling—this had happened only once six years ago.
