Dawn POV

Finally. Work was over for me. Luckily Boss let us work only two hours more after lunch. We basically worked only around five hours.

We were told we could continue if we wanted but after hearing the Lurkers I was ready to get the hell out of there.

"Good work today Dawn. I'm actually surprised you fixed four vehicles in so little time"

Yuki stopped by to help clean up and to see how I did on my first day. After that he would carry on fixing the boat.

"Thanks" I softly said

"I mean it. You know about cars but not much about ATV's so I thought it would have taken you longer"

I shrugged putting up the wrenches "it's kinda similar to cars. I mean once you find the problem, you find the tools and fix it"

"But four today? In how many hours?" Yuki was shocked

"Well one was only fixing the wheel. One dirt bike just need a new spark plug and the rest was just engine problems that could easily be fixed"

"Well" Yuki huffed after putting the batteries in a dry spot "you still did good. It's nice to have a hand around here"

We locked up the shed and made our way to the stairs. After lunch I never heard my name or any other noises. I was thankful for that, but it only ruined my mood knowing something like that was walking the earth. Even the island I'm on.

"Go shower and get some rest. It's only the beginning of the week so you have a few more days to go"

Boss allowed the three of us to work any days we want. We have two days out of the week that are free so we can use them whenever.

"What about you?" I asked

"I'm still on the clock. Gotta finish the boat, hoping I'll get it done by tomorrow so they can use it to go get food"

"Can you show me a little?" I asked handing him my rag so he could wipe off his sweat

"Yeah I can. It's a bit complicated but once you get the hang of it, it's like fixing a car"

"Dope"

He took me to the beach and we got on a little boat to head over to the island that stored bigger boats. The yacht Rose and Blue came on a few days ago already ship out to gather more supplies. They are hoping it will arrive within the next month.

I was thankful Rose and Blue stayed behind on the island. The three of us became pretty close to them. It's been more of a parent, kid relationship. I don't mind it, it's nice to have someone look out for you.

They were protective too. Always telling us not to go over the fence, making sure we eat. Sometimes we would lie saying we didn't eat and they would bring us food.

I'm sure they knew we were lying but didn't really care. They were just caring people in that way.

"Here we are"

I looked up to see about a forty foot long boat. He took me on board and I notice cages for when they catch lobsters a craw fish. My belly growled just thinking about some sea food.

"Basically the cooling system isn't working and the boat over heated. That's the reason we haven't had sea food for dinner yet" Yuki explained

We walked into the small cabin on the boat and walked down stairs "seems like an easy fix"

Yuki shook his head "thought the same thing. Unfortunately due to the heat some pipes burst. So now the fun part is fixing the pipes"

"Wouldn't you need new ones?"
