Lost In The Jungle

Me and Chan had been so occupied, we didn't even know we skipped dinner. Anastasia and Ivan parent instinct kicked in and brought us food.

The weather was perfect out. There was a light breeze but not enough to make someone cold. People were scattered around the beach, enjoying it with their own friends.

After Anastasia and Ivan brought us dinner, they left to another gazebo and enjoyed their time together. Me and Chan were at the edge of the water, in the far corner. A little away from everyone but still in birds view.

There was a low table, jars filled with lightening bugs to light up the area a bit. Two chairs on each side, all four having no legs but sat on the sand. Then a white cloth hanging over the table area, held up by sticks.

"I've never seen water like this"

I looked across the table at Chan who was memorized by the island. Since it was getting dark, the water was starting to glow it's normal blue and you were able to see the glowing fish and corals.

Instead of a pink and orange sunset, today it was more of a blue and purple setting with a hint of pink. I laughed at Chan thinking of how I was reacting the same way months ago. Some days I'm still shocked by everything.

We continued to eat our food that consisted of rice, chicken, steak, and vegetables. We have not stopped talking since we've gotten to the beach. Picking up some rice with my chop sticks I remembered what I wanted to ask him.

"Blue and them already knew you, were you like a friend or something of theirs?"

Taking a sip of his drink, he shook his head "no, for maybe seven months now I've been in contact with their father. I did some research and found this island wanting to come here since I knew he allowed people with abilities"

"Oh, so you know what happened to the Boss?"

"Boss? That's what you guys called him?"

I shook my head signaling a 'yes'. He hummed in response "how did you find this place? I thought it was kept pretty secret"

He laughed a little "well long story short, I was a very troubled kid and hacked into a lot of stuff. One day I randomly hacked into a man's laptop hoping to get some money, turns out he was helping Boston get shipments in here"

"Oh you're talking about Steve Trevor" I said remembering he was located in Korea. I notice Chans confused look at the name "his name is actually Trevor, but since everyone has powers. I call him Steve Trevor-"

"From Wonder Women"

"Yeah! Exactly!"

He laughed at my excitement. His laugh was cute, so was his smile. I gotta stop thinking like this. I literally got a crush on someone a mile away. I shook the thought out my head.

"So I'm kinda like Scarlet Witch"

"Oh my god. You are!"

Even though he doesn't have cool glowing eyes or glowing hands. He still moves things with his mind. It's still telekinesis.

"Anyways" he started after laughing "I message Boston and I met up with Blue and Rose in Korea soon after. I guess he talked to a few people about me around here. That's why some know me"

"Why didn't you come back with Blue and Rose?"

Not long after when Travis, Drey and I got here, Blue and Rose showed up. He could have been new here the same time we were and experienced everything together.

"Well" he drew out. I gave him the eye to continue "I wasn't very welcomed back home since everyone knew there was something wrong with me. Since I stole money from a lot of people, I got caught and got sent to prison for a little. Luckily for me, Boston contacted Ivan and he sent some people to get me out" he explained

It made me sad when he said there was something wrong with him. There clearly wasn't. He just wasn't normal, and wasn't like everyone else. No one is perfect.

Him saying he stole money either makes me think, his family was poor or, he had no family. I didn't want to ask incase if was a sensitive topic.

"Well I'm glade your here. I get a new best friend"

He smiled at my comment. He looked down trying to hide his cheeks that turned pink. Even though it was dark, I still notice it.

"What about you? What made you come here?"

"Well Drey had an obsession with the people breaking out of prison. One day he had seen a video and notice where it was taken place, so the three of us went. That's when they caught us and took us back to the island" I explained

I left out the part where it was on purpose and Ivan and Anastasia are most likely my parents. That can be all for another time.

"Wow. That must have been scary"

"It was" I said remembering the three of us freaking out "but I had them so I felt better"

He hummed at my response and we started to eat again. I hope Yuki was doing okay. I know Zero was staying with him. Ivan and Anastasia said they were hanging out.

They also said, Drey was moving out of Travis tent and into Edwin's. Travis not really minding since he now has more room. I am explained Rose was showing Travis how to preform heart surgery on a fake dummy she asked for.

Why? I'm not sure, but Ivan said Travis was loving it. He was really following in his mothers foot steps. Then Anastasia said she tried to convince Blue to hang out with them but he was too busy in the office. He had been for a while.

"So what's up with you and Travis?"

"Huh?" I asked shocked from the question. Chan chuckled w little at my reaction.

"He's always watching you and seems jealous"

"Promise not to say anything"

"Promise" Chan said holding out his pinky to me. I smiled and hooked mine around his. People I meet never do that so it was nice to see him do it.

"We both like one another and we've confessed. I just don't want our friendship to get ruined. I've known him my whole life, and our friendship means the world to me"

Chan nodded at my response. Quiet for a moment, thinking "I get it. Your afraid if you go to the next step, something could happen and it could ruin that and your friendship"

"Right"

"I'm not the best at these things but I know love can be difficult sometimes, but if you love someone then you know you'd never want to hurt them. Therefor you should never have to worry about that"

I nodded thinking about what he had said. He was very true. Trust was the key in a relationship. So is loyalty, but trust comes with loyalty.

"That's a smart way to think. If I'm being honest here, I think I love him more as a friend. It's weird cause sometimes I get nervous around him and get butterflies"

"Oh yeah" He said setting down his cup "that I can't explain. Just talk to him about it, he seems like a understandable guy"

"Yeah I guess. He knows I want to stay friends. Who knows, maybe a girl will sweep in and still his heart"
