Lost In The Jungle

The week finally passed and the three of us decided on using our two free days together so we could hangout. We we're currently in my tent from waking up ready to head to lunch.

I decided on Jean shorts and a striped crop top. Of course with my white converse. Converse were my favorite shoes brand right beside Nike. I only owned one pair of Nikes because Drey got them for me for Christmas one year.

I never really wore them because I was afraid to get them dirty. They were the expensive, a little over a hundred. I asked Drey where he got the money. He then proceeded to tell me he saved up money by cleaning his house for about a year and got paid by his parents.

He was a sweet gesture but I felt bad because he spent his saving on a pair of shoes for me. I had some money but never used it because I was saving up to leave. We weren't poor but we didn't have as much money as Drey and Travis did.

I used to get picked on for my converse having holes in them and being dirty. I didn't really care though, the holes were only little and they got dirty because it's all I wore. I didn't care about expensive things like everyone else.

I think that's one reason why I became friends with Drey and Travis. They do dress nice and wore naked brand stuff but they never picked on me. They liked me for who I was and I didn't feel the need to change my appearance because of them.

"Good afternoon the three musketeers" Blue said barging into my tent throwing himself on the love sack

Behind him came in Rose along with Edwin. Edwin and Drey have one another a small wave. This passed week they have gotten so close to one another. Drey would talk non stop about him before bed. He would also act shy around him which wasn't normal compared to the crazy Drey. If you ask me I think they like one another.

"Want to go eat?" Rose asked

We agreed and Travis and Drey went to their tents to get ready. Blue and Edwin left to go save us a seat leaving me and rose. I sat on my bed toeing my shoes.

"So I talked to Zero yesterday" Rose said picking up the Walkman Z had gifted me. I thought it was very kind of him.

"Cool" I said not really catching on

"Ugh" she said sitting beside me "I think someone has a crush" she sang nudging my shoulder

I turned around to face her side "how do you know I like him?" I questioned. I thought I was good at hide it it.

"Wait you like him?" She asked surprised

"Well yeah I think I do"

"You think"

"Yeah I think. I mean I feel safe around him, he makes me laugh, and I can be me around him" I smiled

"Are we talking about the same person?" she wondered

"I've had these feeling for a little while now and can't seem to shake it off. It's weird cause I see him as a great friend but I also want to be with him for the rest of my life" I explained

"You mean Travis right?" She asked

"Yeah"

"Of course" she laughed to herself "the way he looks at you he for sure adores you. If you're having feelings why not go for it?"

I thought back to the conversation Edwin and me had. Edwin basically told me the same thing she's explaining now. I really didn't know what to do.

"I don't know" I answered honestly "he's an amazing friend and I don't want to lose that"

"He can still be a friend in a relationship"

"What if we break up? Won't it be awkward? What if we never speak to one another again because it'll be hard to see one another?" I rambled on

"You ask a lot of questions" she laughed extending her hand to help me get up "you both are young so dating is something that comes with learning. You guys will get the hang of it. If you truly care for one another than those questions shouldn't be a problem"

She was right. Relationship are hard. I mean look at my parents. They loved one another and now hated each other. Dreys parents are the exact opposite.

They've been together since middle school. Maybe broke up here and there over dumb kid arguments, but they loved one another so much they fixed the problems together.

Maybe I should give it a shot. Maybe flirt a bit more. Let him make the first move. I'm to chicken if I'm being honest.

"Mhm I'm so hungry" Drey explained walking out the tent in swim trunks and a crop top. Typical Drey.

Followed by Travis in basketball shorts and a black shirt. Something so simple makes him look like a million bucks.

"It's not nice to stare" Travis said moving my head a little from him.

"Thought you looked cute" I said walking with Rose who was winking at me

"Wait really?" I questioned running up to be only to be stopped by Drey calming him down from excitement.

"Thanks" I whispered to Rose

"Oh course love"

We were finally sitting down while every shoved barbecue in there mouths. Z had to help cook and wasn't able to eat with us but promised he'd be there for dinner.

Yuki took a break from the boat that's almost finished and decided to take the day off tomorrow. I convinced everyone to so we could all hang out.

"Why is your name Rose, Rose?" Drey asked siping on his water

"My mom liked Roses" she briefly answered

"My dad's favorite color was blue" Blue chimed in

"Boring" Drey said mainly for Edwin but we all heard it

"What about you Drey? Why is your name Drey?" An annoyed Blue asked stealing one of my pineapples

"I was named after a family relative who passed"

"Oh I'm sorry" Blue said wishing he didn't ask

"Oh it's fine. Never meet her" Drey shrugged

"Her?"

I stole some barbecue off Blues plate and ate it before he could get it back "his real name is Audrey, after his late grandmother" I explained

"That's a girls name" Blue giggled to himself stealing more fruit off my plate while Drey threw bread at my face for telling everyone his real name.

"Not need to be embarrassed about it Drey. It has a nice meaning behind it" Rose explained

Drey agreed and we went down the list of how everyone got there names. Of course Yuki said from he's parents but then became serious.

Yuki got his name from a restaurant his grandparents owned in Japan that became a big hit. Travis telling the long story of how he's named after Travis Scott because they were long lost cousins. Of course no one believed him. He finally told the truth after making up different stories.

"They just liked the name" I honestly replied

"What about you kid?" Blue asked giving me the rest of his zucchini

"Ever heard of the soap?"
