This old mysterious shack was just a bait shop. The shelves were basically wiped clean and it smelt like fish inside.
I sat outside waiting for the rest to come out. Why were they in the empty, fish smelling shack? I don't know. I'm wondering the same thing.
"Let's go check out the boats" Ivy said walking out and straight passed me
I shrugged not having anything else to do and followed right behind her. Watching her long, pale legs skip in front of me. I shook my head no believing Travis went for someone like her.
Not that she's a bad person. I love Ivy. She's great. She is just not Travis's type. That he has told Drey and I multiple times. He's actually joked about people who looked like Ivy.
Tall, pale, and super skinny. He always said his type was either someone with meat on their bones or over weight.
That's what I loved about Travis. He didn't care what you looked like. Even if he made fun of you, he didn't mean it in a rude way. It was kind of a joking in a friend way. Even if he didn't know the person.
"Be careful Ivy. I'm not going down there if you fall" I called out to her as she looked over the edge of the canal
I walked behind her with my arms out to steady myself from falling into the water myself. We walked down the canal on the side concrete.
"Do you think the people who lived here took these out everyday?"
I shrugged at her answer, concentrating on my foot work "maybe. They seemed to have the money to do so. Living the big life on a island, no care in the world. If it were me, I'd take my boat out everyday and lay out listening to music"
"That does sound lovely" she hummed
"We shouldn't go to far" I noticed we had walked closer to the woods and further away from the bait shop, "what are they doing in there anyways? It's not like there's something interesting"
"Actually there is. Drey tripped and fell into the wall knocking over some wood. Turns out there was a flight of stairs that led underground"
I stopped moving at her response. I stared straight at her watching her almost lose her balance into the dirty, murky water.
"And no one thought to tell me" I raised my eyebrow
Ivy stopped to face me, "uh yeah, me silly"
"Then why aren't we back there" I raised my hands "why are we all the way down the canal"
"There was a bunch of spider webs and I just washed my hair. I thought we could explore a boat instead" airy shrugged
I groaned in frustration, "the secret stair case sounds so much cooler than a boat in nasty water Ivy"
"Oh come on Dawn" she jumped "just one boat and we can go back. I promise"
"Do they even know we left?"
She just smiled at me and continued walking. That was a no for an answer. I quickly followed her waiting for her to chose a boat. Waiting to quickly get back to the shack.
Ivy finally picked a random boat. Of course it had to be one of the hardest to get into. I made her go first to see how she got in. Incase I needed to change my way.
She struggled a little. Sliding against the slimy edge but finally making it in. I followed after her, the same direction she took.
The boat was at a slight angle so I had to grip on to the wall so I didn't slip. The inside was dark and hard to see. The o my light being from the small door we came through.
