Lost In The Jungle

Groaning, I stretched and got out of bed. Quickly throwing on a pair of leggings and my cornstalk timberlands.

I felt like absolute trash. I knew having cold chills yesterday was weird. I think I was coming down with something.

It had to be the weather turning cold all of a sudden. Maybe since it's December, or January now. I can't keep up anymore.

Being hot and cold on and off. I threw on a cropped tank top incase I got warm and wanted to take off my jacket.

Sneezing, I plopped down on my bed and extended my legs out in front of me. It was so unfair I had to still go out in this weather to go look for things. I didn't feel good.

Rose even came in to wake me up and told me once I get to moving around I'd feel better. She was the doctor, she should let me stay back.

"Oh, you look horrible"

"Oh thanks. That's something every girl wants to hear"

Chan chuckled to myself and came to seat down beside me. I layer my head on his shoulder and huffed not wanted to leave.

"I feel like shit"

"You sound like shit" he laughed making me laugh a little

"I don't wanna hey you sick" I said moving my head off of him

He shrugged "eh, I don't mind. We can be sick together"

I smiled at his comment and sneezed again. Chan then backed up away from me. Rolling my eyes at him like he didn't just say he didn't mind getting sick.

He got up and grabbed a black hoodie. A hoodie being his. He helped me up from the bed and helped put it on me.

"Let me find you a hat"

I walked over and sat down on a chair at the table. Feeling a little weak, I didn't want to be standing. After looking around in a few drawers, he came back with one in his hand.

I stood up while he placed a white beanie on me. He made sure it covered my ears and most of my forehead. I looked up at him while he fixed my bangs so they weren't poking me in the eyes.

He's skin looked soft, and it was super soft. His cheek bones were sharp and his nose was cute and big. His eyes were thinner than mine, making his face more child like.

His hair seemed to be curly today. I guess since the rain got to it. His eyebrows were both a perfect shape, both matching one another. His right one had a scar in the middle.

"Stop staring" he said poking my nose

"I can't help it"

He smiled and kissed me on the forehead, "your nose is super red. You look like that one rain deer"

"Rudolph?"

"Yeah that one" he laughed

"You butthole" I laughed hitting him in the chest lightly "I don't feel good"

"I know, I'm sorry" he said hugging me, "let's get going, there waiting on you. Wanna piggy back ride?"

"Please"

Walking to the beach I put on my hood once it started raining a little. Lucky for me I didn't have to go back to the cave today.

Drey wouldn't stop bugging Blue about wanting to find more buildings after we got back yesterday and I think Blue got annoyed and just told him yes.

So we were going back to our regular groups again. I wasn't sure if the others were going back to the cave or not, but either way I didn't really care.

I don't have to do any of that work and I got to be with Chan. Plus, I didn't have to be around Ivan. Last night after dinner he did come up to me and Ivy and apologized.

We said it was okay and we understood his worries. It was still annoying thought.

"Woah Dawn, you look terrible" Yuki pointed out

"Oh thanks" I said sitting down in one of the ATV's

Travis walked up to me hearing Yuki say those words. Looking worried he moved my hat a little and felt my head, "you're burning up. You should be in bed"

"I agree but, Rose told her to come" Chan said

"Ivy isn't feeling well either. She's been coughing none stop" Travis explained

"Her voice is real horsey and she very weak. Cold chills too" Chan talked to Travis like I wasn't here

"I don't think it's a bug or else we'd all be feeling somewhat sick. They've been together the majority of the time, and having similar symptoms" Travis thought. His mom would be so proud of him

"Do you think it could be the weather change?" Chan asked

"Maybe. Dawn is used to cold weather back at home. She never got sick, and Ivy just told me it was rare for her to get sick like this also" Travis continued

Yuki turned around from being up front, "could they have ate something bad?"

"No" Travis said, shaking his head "these symptoms are different from food poisoning. All I can think of is maybe it is the weather. Cold chills, hot flashes, horsey voices, they even look like they've been in the snow for days"

All three boys looked over at me. I just crossed my arms and leaned back wanting them to stop staring at me like a zoo animal.

"Just keep an eye on them two, please" Travis asked

"Of course man" Chan said

"Don't worry Travis. They're in good hands" Yuki said walking over to the other ATV

Travis checked my temperature again and gave me a quick hug. Telling me bye and a 'I love you', he left to go say the same to Ivy who was talking with Rose.

Yuki came back with a blanket and handed it to me to share with Ivy when she gets here. Before everyone got ready to leave, they checked up on me and Ivy.

"You sure your okay?" Chan asked me

I nodded and he gave me a light kiss on top of my head and went to the driver seat. Ivy got comfortable beside me and we shared the blanket together.

Blue and Yuki drove together and then Drey rode with us wanting to make sure I was okay. Forgetting my camera back in the tent, I didn't think much of it.

Yuki was up front with the map instead of Ivy this time. There were many ways to go, Blue did want to go back to the school to look more around but decided to find else.

I was glad we got to the jungle. It was a little warmer than the beach. The trees helped block the wind. The fog was probably much worse than the last time we were here.

So far we were lucky not to come in contact with the mist. Edwin had said something about he notice it only happened when it was warm. So maybe the fog prevented it from happening.

During this ride, Ivy and I were quite the whole time. Just watching our surroundings. Both Drey and Chan looking back here and there to check on us.

What seemed like forever, we finally came across something.
