Lost In The Jungle

We divided into our usual teams. Unfortunately for us, we were left with two ATV's instead of three. The other group argued they should be the ones to have three since they decided to go back to the mall and actually bring stuff back.

Blue was up front driving with Chan and Yuki. Then I was stuck driving with Ivy and Drey. I didn't mind being with them. They were just in the middle of arguing over something stupid.

"Don't you agree with me Dawn?"

"Huh? Sorry, what?" I shook my head

Ivy groaned leaning back into her seat, "did you not just hear my argument. I explained it pretty well"

"No you didn't Ivy! Everything you said was so stupid. Makes since considering you're a red head" Drey muttered the last part

"Hey! That's not nice" I told the pouting kid in the backseat

"See what I'm saying Dawn! He knows I'm right, therefor he has to say something mean" she said eyeing Drey

Acting like she was going to throw his gummies out the moving vehicle. I quickly grabbed them before she accidentally dropped everything. I wanted to snack on some too.

"I agree with Drey here-"

"Ha! See Ivy I told you she'd agree with me. It was a tradition that we watched it every year until the next one came out" Drey explained

"Oh come on Dawn. Out of all movies, you really like that one? It's so annoying" Ivy complained

I scuffed, "and Mean Girls isn't?"

She dramatically gasped, clenching to her chest "Mean Girls is a classic. Everyone knows that, even the person who hates Mean Girls knows it's a classic"

"It's may be a classic Ivy" Drey began leaning up front, with his arms crossed "but it's still annoying. That just proves my whole argument here. That Good Burger is one, if not, the best movie ever made"

"I agree with Drey here" I nodded my head, watching the school as we drove by

"You two are the worst" Ivy whined looking the other way as Drey tugged on her hair to annoy her

I sighed and leaned my head back. Continuing down the bumpy dirt path. If you even considered it a path. It was just a clear area we could drive.

We were now coming up on the hospital or metal asylum. Whatever you wanted to call that place. I had no plans to go back. I don't think anyone else did too. I believed they got everything they needed. I didn't even ask, just listened to the information they gathered.

Ivy held out the map, with Drey looking over her shoulders. So far on our end of the island. Felix's house, the school, and the hospital were all marked. Including the statues we passed.

We were now on a new territory. Everything still looked the same. Just this time the sun was out and was no longer foggy.

We could see ahead of us, incase the Lurker came. It wasn't as creepy as before, but still a little scary. Considering we could always get lost in the jungle and never find our way out.

The trees were tall and closed in at the top. Still shining sun light through the open slits of the leaves and branches.

There were no palm trees since we were deep in the woods. Even at the beach there weren't mean palm trees. I guess not all beaches have palm trees? I've never seen many beaches to answer that.

"Finally" Ivy said. Unbuckling her seatbelt she started to stretch, "this ride has been killing my back"

"This is so giving me the Goonies vibes"

I nodded my head agreeing with both. I turned off the vehicle and got out stretching. Walking around to the other side. I stood beside Drey. Arms cross looking at the sight in front of us.

There was a small wooden building with a wrap around porch. A sign had fallen off the top so I couldn't read what it said.

A small window on each side of the door. Both broken of course. Parts of the porch looked to have collapsed, along with part of the roof.

Off to the right side was canal filled with boats. Unfortunately all the boats in the canal were either tipped over or very run down.

"I'm assuming the canal reaches the ocean" Yuki said walking up

We all hummed in agreement. The building was small so we could see past the back a little. Weeds grew and trees covered the area. Only the building stood on this piece of land.

The canal was long. Vines growing in the murky water. The water almost looking like it could be a sidewalk from how still it was. I guess no living fish were in there.

The canal took off into the woods. Parts covered in vines and sail boats tipped over, "or maybe it goes to a lake" Blue said

We all hummed once again. Either agreeing or thinking about it. If it connected to the ocean, wouldn't the water be clear?

"Let's go check it-"

"Whoah there buddy" Blue stopped Drey from skipping towards the creepy building, "gloves"

Drey groaned, stomping his foot on the ground like a five year old. He turned back around and grabbed the gloves out of Blues hand. Mumbling under his breath. Blue just patted his back and started walking with him.

Followed by Yuki. I was now left with Chan and Ivy. Ivy was still looking over the canal. Somewhat fascinated by the boats.

I linked arms with Chan before he could take off. Calling out to Ivy. She looked back realizing we were leaving and took off towards us. Linking her arm with my free one.

"We should all go on a date. Me and Travis, you two and of course Drey and Edwin" Ivy cheerfully said

"Eh, I'm not re-"

"I'd think that'd be fun Ivy" I whipped my head towards Chan who rudely interrupted me. He just smiled looking at me through the corner of his eye.

"Oh boy!" Ivy jumped up and down, "I'll go tell Drey"

Ivy took off towards the building. Making her way up the porch with the others. Accidentally tripping on the first step. Yuki quick with his reflex's, caught her before she landed face first.

"You do know how that will go, right?" I questioned Chan

He chuckled bringing his foot up and kicking my butt, "oh I know, that's why I said I think it would be fun. I didn't say it would be nice"

I lightly pinched his side. Not even getting a reaction, "you owe me for this?"

"We'll make fun of it later"

"That is true" I said after thinking for a moment

Our conversation ended quickly after getting yelled at from Blue. For being too slow. Ivy and Yuki fake kissing behind Blues back. Quickly stopping after getting caught.

"Come on" Chan pulled me, "let's go investigate this mysterious shack"
