Chapter 10: Hardcore training part 2

After around four months of the same training plus training with kicks, rolls, counters, speed, and precision, Sonny would be casually doing more and more damage to the oak trees, punching one, kicking the other one, they even did endurance training and soon Elra would teach him how to fight properly by sparring with him every now and then.
Elra would stand there as Sonny was sitting on a long sipping a cup of water Skyler had provided them, "Well, you're definitely a lot better than when we first trained, these four months have definitely improved you, makes it even easier that you're a bit of a quick learner."

Sonny smiled as he grew excited, "So am I ready to face Glitch?" He asked curiously as she stood up, setting the cup down before so as Elra just smiled and shook head, "Ha! No. Not even close, you have a ways to go before then." She would say as Sonny just looked at her confused, "How much better can I do?" Elra just smiled as she looked at Demons Fate next to the boy, "I know of someone who will help you, sword training n everything."

Sonny now confused but excited on this news would simply ask, "Who?"
Elra kept her smile before answering, "My master Rai, he's self trained and he isn't really a famous or public teacher but he might as well be, he's a prodigy and I know for a fact that he'll definitely help you out, he did for me when I was lost." She would say proudly, it was a pride gained from knowing someone great in person, Sonny would shake his head yes, "Oh well, sure, I could do for some sword training!"

Elra nodded as she turned and headed off, "I'll be right back." She would proceed to leave for a few hours before returning followed by a man in a black trench coat, dark grey pants, a light grey button up shirt partially unbuttoned and a crimson katana on his belt with dragon art on the sheath.

Elra smiled as the man towered over her basically, he walked by her side in a formal way, "So, this is Master Rai, and he'll be your sword master for now."
Sonny would bow, he may have been childish but when Sonny saw this man he could sense the strength from him and proceeded to use his taught mannerisms, "Uh hello sir."
Rai in a deeper but very calm and soothing voice said, "You will from now on refer to me as Master or Master Rai and nothing else. From here on I shall be your ticket from a sharp death, do you understand Sonny?" His words were harsh sounding, quite contradictory to his voice, but it was clear where Elra got her rough training experience from, though it was also clear that the bow did impress Rai.

Sonny would only answer with, ". . .Yes master Rai." He hated being commanded or being looked down on and having to look up to people he just met, but he knew Rai was acting as a teacher to train and protect him, sure Rai was only really teaching him out of a favor for his friend/pupil but he was still willing to train the boy at all, and for that, Sonny was grateful.

Rai nodded as Sonny stood up straight, "Good, let's get started shall we." The man would say before going over to a bag full of bamboo sticks that Elra carried on their way back, he would then grab the handle of his sword and slash the sticks clean in half at the speed of light putting his blade back in his sheath, "Your turn." He would say calmly as he looked to Sonny and stepped back to give room.
Sonny would then go up to another thing of bamboo sticks as he'd pull out his blade as fast as he could and swing only cutting through half the sticks then bowing his head in embarrassment.
"Raise your head and accept your defeat." Rai would instantly tell him as if he knew what the boy was gonna do when he failed, it was clear it wasn't the first time, and Sonny would listen.
Rai would look to Sonny softly, "In order to cut like I just did, you need speed and precision, speed comes from strength in your arms and proper body turning, precision comes from an empty mind, but not a wondering mind, match these two things before we continue to cut things."

Sonny a bit confused on this looked at the master it was a look seeking for answers, "Okay, so how do I do that?"
Rai looked back with a look of answers to be sought, "I want you to take two hours everyday to meditate with your blade, and then five hundred reps of lifting heavy things, perhaps for you, tree branches should do." He would say as Elra smiled and added on, "And don't forget your normal routine of the field dashing, kicks and punches training, and leg, and fist training."
Sonny a tad bit overwhelmed with everything, though he wanted to get stronger, he truly did, so he was willing to do this, "Okay... I think I got all that." Rai would shake his head, "You should only know that you have it not think, remember, this is for a life and death situation that you must face, so make sure you are ready." Rai would correct, he had agreed to accept Sonny as his student so he will train him as best as he could.
Sonny would shake his head and bow, "Yes master..."

After a few more months of consistent training, (Rai had walked to and from his own home as his own training), his body and skills would improve a significant amount as he gained more endurance and strength as he followed the training routine he was told, practicing not just his fighting skills but his sword skills as well, even his mind was a bit stronger.

Sonny would hop side to side as he felt a burst of energy, "So am I ready now master?"
Rai looked at the boy and shook his head, "To face Glitch? Not even close."
Sonny stopped immediately as he looked confused and frustrated "Ugh, everyone says that, I feel like I'm ready to!" He complained as Rai looked at him as he began to correct, "Patience is key to training, without it, many warriors would have failed long before they set foot on the battle ground, do not make that same mistake child, you must have patience if you wish to face a person like Glitch, he is cunning and dangerous, dangerous enough to slaughter an entire army of humans and even demons single handedly compared to you who can barely even damage a tree, therefore, you. Are. Not. Ready." He would say strictly as Sonny just stayed silent, it was true, Glitch was strong, and Sonny even now, was not.
