Chapter 19: The Calm Before the Storm.

The winds of the Underworld were blowing a bit strong through the cities causing the colored sands to push around, it felt like a desert and was just as depressing as one. Vero the man from the bar now after Sonny would sit in a chair in front of Amare with an expression that showed annoyance and frustration, he wasn't to happy with the news Amare gave him, "Doing this will be bad for the balance of bounties. You can't just do that!" Vero yelled slamming his hands on the desk. "I can and will, and you can't stop me, cause if you do it'll end badly for both our reputations, small or not, he needs to die, I'm sure old bird man thinks the same." Amare would say, referring to Cardinal as he knew even he wanted Sonnys bounty, they all thought the boy weak, they knew Glitch was strong and wouldn't easily fall going headfirst against him so they chose to wait by the sidelines and even made deals and alliances with him.

Vero would now glare at the man, "So you think you can just split your bounties among everyone from killing a high figure just like that?!" He would shout in frustration as Amare simply leaned back in his chair, "I do indeed, and if they say otherwise I'll convince them to change it." He would respond and Vero looked at him, "Oh yeah, and how do you plan to do that?" He questioned and Amare would simply smile, "Let's just say, I have some boys on the inside." He said as Vero could only sigh and mutter, "If you fail, I'll take all your bounties and live a full life with the money earned from it." Amare would just smile more to this response, "If you say so." With this, Vero would just get up and leave with a sigh before taking a puff of his cigarette and proceeding to walk down the streets of the Underworld.

                          Meanwhile

Sonny would be laying on the mat relaxing after having a nice meal as Skyler would walk up and set her large paw on his face to mess with him, to put in perspective the size of her paws, it covered the boys entire face and Sonny with a muffled voice would grab the paw in a way it didn't hurt, "Sky. . . . Sk. . .sky. . . ! Skyler!!!" With a panicked yell and a strong tug, he would pull her paw off and inhale deeply before coughing and breathing heavy, "You trying to suffocate me!?" He would yell out a bit annoyed as Skyler simply sat there, “Nope, just trying to play with you.” Hearing that, Sonny would sit up fully and shake his head, "Well, your form of playing is deadly." He would mutter annoyed as Skyler just giggled.
Sonny would stretch and lay back, "I guess I can start meditating to unlock new abilities now?" He would wonder, hoping this to be true or to see how many or even what kinds of powers he could achieve. Skyler simply shrugged, "Go for it." She would say and Sonny would nod before getting up, grabbing Demons Fate, and going to the cave he first went to and started meditating before reappearing in front of Demon who would shake his head, "I have nothing to currently teach, but if you want power or if you want your powers to grow stronger start meditating here." Sonny a bit confused at how simple that sounded, tilted his head, "Just like that?" Demon looked down to him, "Depends, is your mind clear?" He asked. Sonny could only shake his head and respond, "I'll have to get it clear." Demon would nod, "Then do it." Sonny would then proceed to do so as he listened to Demon and after a few hours he would wake up in the cave as it was a bit dark outside now, with this in mind he would get up and go to the den, "I guess Demon was right, I do feel stronger." He would smile as he opened and closed his hands. Skyler nodded, "Meditation can work wonders." Sonny shook his head in agreement, "Apparently so." He kept his smile and Skyler would lead him to food, "Well come on, let's eat." Sonny would nod and eat the food she made, still confused on how a wolf can cook, let alone something this good. After eating he would get up and go to sleep and waking up the next day.

Skyler would be sitting there next to him, not really watching him but kind of meditating on her own, perhaps she's learned the art of meditation to where she can do it anywhere she wants. "Morning." She would greet him and as he stretched, he would smile, "Morning, Sky." Skyler looked to him, "Sleep well?" Sonny smiled, "I did, the mat feels nice." Skyler would smile back "That's nice to hear." With this, Sonny would hop up, "I think I'm gonna head to the village, I'm curious to see how it is after so long." He'd say while putting his old feather hat on, and a coat to cover his ears, tail, and wings.
Skyler nodded and stayed seated, "Okay, just be careful." She would tell him despite the fact that “Careful” doesn't really describe Sonny, but she still said in anyway and the boy would nod, "Will do." Skyler would look over to him more, "Oh, and be back before dark." To this, Sonny smiled, "Okay mOm." He'd say a bit sarcastically but in a tone that showed he was joking, it was still clear appreciated her concern nonetheless and Skyler would simply smile as Sonny headed out before continuing what she was doing, “He called me mom.” She would smile as she spoke to herself.
