Chapter 71: Onward! Heal up and Find Skyler!

A day or so had passed since the big incident, most of the villagers had left to a different town leaving at least thirty people in the destroyed place, left to rebuild. The group had been given medicine and food before their departure and left with some bandages on, Sonny had been refusing to sleep resulting in the rest of the group not sleeping either, or well at least Blade and Zen who had to carry Hazel due to her lack of rest. They also healed and fixed up their minor injuries but their bigger wounds were slowly healing due to the low sleep and energy. Sonny also seemed quiet and more serious the entire time which is completely the opposite of what he's normally like. As they continued on, the weather seemed to be getting hotter and more dry, the trees seemed to have become multi colored due to the Fall season arriving, however it didn't get colder only hotter oddly enough.

Zen dragged his feet on as he glared at the boy, "Sonny, if you don't sleep, I will make you sleep." He said annoyed.

Blade nodded in agreement, "Seriously, I know this is bad for us and we need to find Elra and Skyler and get them as soon we can, but we also need our rest to do so too." He would explain calmly.

Sonny shook his head, "If you want to sleep fine, I'll keep searching and let you catch up." He had some bags under his eyes as he looked like he was about to pass out but was holding back from it as much as he could and to this response, Zen would just roll his eyes and put his hand over Sonnys eyes using the darkness of it to make the boy pass out instantly.

Blade blinked and looked at Zen laying the boy down as he himself sat down, "The hell did you do??" He would just ask confused. "I knew the moment he closed his eyes for a second too long he'd fall asleep, so I did that for him." Zen answer calmly. "That works I suppose." Blade would answer back as he laid Hazel down gently and set his sword next to him and very quickly passed out.

Zen would make a gravity force field go around all of them as they all slept.

Later

After half a day of sleeping they'd continue on their journey feeling a lot more rested than they did as they continued on with their journey. Zen looking at Sonny would stretch and ask, "Feeling better Sonny?” The boy nodded and smiled some "A bit, thanks." He was indeed feeling better but he was still far from his usual self, it was clear this last fight had a greater impact than any other.

Blade smiled to Sonny, "Yeah so next time you need sleep, and the next time we need sleep, we do so." He would say to him. "I agree with that." Hazel nodded in very clear agreement, she had no right to complain as she had no problems during the current journey, no lack of sleep or food. "Yeah, you're right. But we got our sleep so let's just focus on finding Sky." The boy said calmly as he stretched his wings out and closed them. Zen, Blade, And Hazel all nodded and smiled with the simple answer being one and the same, “Agreed.” Soon, after a bit more walking and exploring they would stop and eat some before gathering more food and continuing off.

Zen looked at Sonny, "When we find Skyler and get to catch up with her, or at least when you guys do, we're going to train for a bit, understand?" He would explain, he knew that after this last fight where they all nearly died, it was clear proof of how weak they truly were in this world and the Afterlives. "After we find her, we need to find the Sky Kingdom." Sonny would explain as Zen nodded in agreement, "Alright, but then we train, we could barely take down that Cardinal guy and yet it appeared the Archangel was a lot more powerful, just holding back a lot even though he could move at the speed of light and darkness if not faster, and if that's the case, imagine what it's like against three or four more, or even the full Seven Archangels." Zen glared at Sonny trying to make him understand just how bad of a situation they were in.
Sonny just kept walking before looking at Zen, "Good point, we'll need to train our speed and power by a LOT." He would smile much to Zens relief at his slowly growing positiveness.
Blade nodded at these plans for the future, "From what I know, Archangels can actually teleport to where they want by just thinking it, plus they have their own unique abilities." The swordsman explained, "We can still try." Sonny would answer back. "Well, I'm going along with whatever you're doing, so let's hope the gods wish us well." He would tell him back.

Zen nodded his head and put his hands in his pockets, "Well, all the gods except Deus who's probably gonna be pissed about us beating up his men." He would chuckle as Sonny smiled, "He can get over it." He laughed and Zen looked over, "I'm not surprised that you're not worried about Him, considering your dad basically challenged the man." Zen would say calmly Sonny gave a big smile,“Exactly.” "Well then, let's go, we got a long journey ahead of us." Zen would finish off.

Sonny, Blade, and Hazel who nodded in return, "Right."
